Mouting Martin EFX500

I am looking to rig my Martin EFX500 on its own on a tripod behind a small setup on Friday night. Any ideas on how to do this would be appreciated.

something i need to look into as well,have seen a few mounted on a single tripod in photo's,but looking at the bracket on mine doesn't look easy,may have a closer look tomorrow when i am in the workshop.

don't think it's going to be possible with a std top hat type of bracket,but i should be able to fabricate something.

if i find an easy solution will post on here.

Hi there,

Its dead easy, I mount mine on seperate stands.

I have one of these :

fixed to the mounting bracket on the light and drop it straight on to the stand. I leave it on the light all the time and as it's o small it doesn't cause any issues when it's in the Mania Flight Bag.

This is how I mount my Mania's and it works perfectly. They are very safe and it's a very cheap method of creating the effect many of you are after.

There are two sinks in the main bathroom on opposing walls so not the en-suite one. His and hers usually sit adjacent to each other in a vanity unit.

Don't ask about the bathroom - we rent and it's the strangest layout in a bathroom ever, the strange thing is that we don't use that one, there's me and my Mrs and we have an en-suite!

Anyhoo, glad the pics of the Mania have helped, I flipped the mounting bracket on mine over so the top hat could stay on in the bag, it's a really easy way to mount the light and gives great versatility when working in strange rooms.

I don't know if you spotted but one of the pics shows how close the XLR connectors on the lights come to the stand if you try to angle the unit toward the dancefloor. To get round this I changed my XLR plugs to the right angle versions, these work loads better and put much less stress on the XLR connector - only a problem iof you're linking or DMX'ing.

What make/model are the stands? they look pretty sturdy and have winches (ideal for those EFX's).
