Denon DNS3500 CD Players

Hello Guys,

What do you guys think of the Denon DNS3500 single table top CD players?

I wondered if they were any good or would you reccomend something different?

Ive had a play with a pair in a pub i used to work in occasionally. There quite good. I fount the platter quite sensitive, but other than that i like them.

me and tom use them and Im sure Tom will argee with me they are great and unlike the pioneers they are much better to look at and also have some onboard effects. I use a pair with the x1500 mixer which is also very nice and good to look at. Personally if you can afford it go and get some of the dns 3700 as they have a few more features.

Ok, well I am looking for a turntable cd player to go with the x900 mixer and a hc4500.

For the money, great CD decks.
On-board sample and 'alpha track' are both good features that can get you out the :Censored: if one decides to play up.

One thing that lets it down is the pitch resolution. It's no where as tight as the CDJ 400/800/1000s. If your used to using them, you'll notice after your first mix on them. Pitch waivering is also a problem (or "characteristic" if you try and talk to Denon about it).

at £499 each there isn't anything really that comes close feature wise.

I'd personally take a look further than just CD players, more and more people are going digital either via media players or software. Looking at units that cope with these two may be better. Perhaps the DNS 1200s or ADJ Radius 3000s when they're released later this year.

if you had come to BPM you could of had a play on all of these Tom. What one dj likes and uses another will hate.

they all were Tom. We are talking alot of money here so i really would try them out yourself.

I have tried out the cdj 1000s and I like them alot. The cdjs have got to go with a hc4500 and a x900.

The DN-S3500s are the best CD table tops I've ever used. I still have a pair of DN-S5000s which are also great, but the 3500s have the edge, particularly with the direct drive platter.

That said, there's nothing wrong with Pioneer CDJs, they are also rock solid and won't let you down - but £ for £ Denon is always the better option :)

I prefer the Denon over the Pioneer. More because it's within my price range and I like what they have to offer.

As you already have the HC4500, why not just get some Denon CD draws and go digital but as you have the draws, you can still use CD's. :)

I am going to use the dns3500s as main cd players and the cd draws for the hc4500 as back up.

That's an expensive back up rig you have there then. Mix that with the x900 that is really no different to the x500 as I have one also. lol.

Make sure you get a good quality case for the CD players. I use Road Ready with the mixer built in also. Cost around £200 but totally worth it. :D
