Looks like a great idea.
I have 4 ipods, a mobile phone and a satnav to charge regularly, so this looks like it could be really useful.
Looks very clever, but I have one mobile telephone to charge (and do that in the cars hands free kit) so I would just be replacing a wire with a big plate on the end of a wire.
For people with multiple devises I can see it being useful.
Robs going to need a mighty big plate for all his stuff.

My first response is HOW MUCH!
The charger plates themselves cost £60/£70 and then the receivers cost £30-£40 per an item. So to charge 1 item "Without Wires" it's going to cost you a minimum of £90!
That wire doesn't seem like such a bad idea after all
I seen this on TV. I do think this is a great idea but a little pricey at the moment but saying that i expect these to drop in price soon anyhow.

I aggree i was just thinking that myself its not wireless chargeing lol as you still have to plug in the plate type thing then stick that chargeing pad on the back of each object ill stick with the little wire and plug in van and home,

When I looked at the details, I didn't get as far as the price!
Ouch!
Looks like I'll continue to have various different chargers plugged into the mains almost permanently.
Shame.

You don't have to buy it and they say exactly what it is for and its uses.

I think he's saying it costs a lot for what it is & for the convenience it brings over using standard chargers...especially as you still have to plug the mat itself into the mains.
I have the same view as Callum.

Not something I'd make use of, but I can see the attraction.
Now, if they made a portable power pack version and you could use it for laptops as well, I might be interested. :D

I would buy it yes as I think it would be useful.
Something is only a rip off if it doesn't do what it says on the tin and there are hidden expenses.
If you are aware of the cost and what it does, then it's not a rip off. If you aren't buying it, then it's not a rip off as you haven't parted with any money.
Now, back on topic please.

Really like this little gizmo but I don't think I am going to buy one just yet.

I think it can be useful tool, I did some research into it a while back and saw a video of the technology installed on a kitchen work top. All the electrical appliances were wireless on the work top (toaster kettles etc). Now can you imagine the same idea being used in a mobile dj application. No more need for the cable police!

Seems pointless to me, for the sake of having to have that thing permenantley attached to the back of my phone, I'd rather spend 2 seconds plugging it in to charge.

Something cannot be a rip off if you haven't paid money for it or it doesn't do what it is supposed to.

Of course it can. A rip off is a bad deal. I don't need to have physically bought something in order to have the opinion that it's a rip off. I just need to know what it is, what it does & how much it costs.
If I'd bought one, I could say I'd been ripped off, but just because I haven't I can still have the OPINION that they ARE a rip off.

Rubbish. It's not a rip off if you haven't bought one. If you do buy one and it does what it says and you know how much you're paying for and there is nothing else to pay, then it's still not a rip off. You know what you are buying and what it does and how much it costs, so it is not a rip off.
