High. Great gig at a localish club. Ended the night on loads of 90's dance and even JX - Theres nothing that i wont do which Ive never played before.......

Low. Driving back my lights went on the van!!!!

Seriously driving in the dark not far from cheltenham front lights just went. side lights still work, brake lights still work but couldnt even set them on full beam could only get light if I kept the stick pushed forward (usually you only do this to quickly flash your lights). So had right mare to get home driving really slow hazards on and full beam until a car come other way. Thank god there was street lights all the way back.

Any ideas what it might be? got a gig tomorrow and doubt i cant get someone to look at it..........................

Oh, that's not clever :eek:

Start at the fuse box and work from there. With the rest apart from "head" lights working that's what it sounds like to me ;)

Thats what I would suggest. Sounds like a fuse.

unlucky but sounds like 2 new headlight bulbs may be required,if you can get main beam then you have power to the lamp,hopefully just the dipped beam filament blown in both lamps.never had 2 headlamp bulbs go at the same time.

On some cars you can change the power cable over and turn the bulb upside down as a quick fix. Then your high beams stay on but pointed at the ground. Its not meant to be a great fix but once had to drive like this myself when the stator failed on my motorbike.
would agree though check the fuses on my peugeot partner I have seperate fuses for high and low beams.

Im going to go and check it in a minute but the only way I could get high beam is to keep the left hand side stick (i guess its called) pushed forward instead of having it selected on high beam on the twisty end bit thats on the stick.

Check the fuse 1st, and both the bulbs, mine motor's head light bulb both went at the same time, the fuse was fine, just thought it was a coincedence that they both went at the same time.

Took me over an hour to change the things though :bang: , problem with new cars, there no room to get your hands behind the light unit to remove the rubber seal, undo the clip, remove the old buld and replace with the new! Used to take me 2 mins when I changed the bulbs on my 1st car!

I told a mechanic mate and he said they were fiddley to change nowadays!:)

I'm going to take it Halfords and let them struggle next time!

Its an 98 Merc Vito and its still a hassle to get into the lights

faulty stork perhaps if your having to hold it in the wrong position to even get full beam.try wiggling stalk and turning light sw might just be sticking contact

Gonna have to go and sort it now as its gonna get dark soon but means missing the footy... damm these winter nights!

This sounds obvious but double check you have power at the lights, between the socket and the metal body work.
Most cars / vans use the metal body work as the negative conductor.
I have had problems in the past where the ground wire connected to the body work has corroded and stopped making a connection.

looks like a faulty stork. Lucky they had an AA Van down by halfords so after I changed the fuses and bulbs I asked him for advice and in all fairness he couldnt of been nicer. Tested all the fuses and tied it down to the stork.................


Which means tonight I'll have to go set up earlier, leave the van there and pick up tomorrow. :( Nightmare!

Least on the plus side I had a great gig last night. Had those big massive martin moving heads, an EFX 700 and a few scanners (martin I think). Had some awesome custom gobo of the club name and logo. They had a camera fixed on the booth which got shown on all the screens around the club so I had to behave myself lol. Played and mixed alot of funky house at the start which was nice. Rnb later on with some of the classics and ended on 90's dance. Manager was happy, took a couple of cards and hopefully get some more regular work in the future.

oh and last night was the first time I've used cdj 800's mk2.

Rubbish. Didnt like them at all. Too slow to load songs and had a dodgy cue button on it. Give me a denon over that any day

I had this happen on my old transit, it was the stork that needed replacing, but as a temporary measure I managed to wedge a bit of card in the right place where the connector with all the wires (I think they're called "molex connectors"..) attaches to the stork, to keep the contacts in place.

ive just rang a bloke who I know that does cars and he says theres an common fault with these and its a right mare to change it in fact its all one unit :S sounds expensive already...

Thing is ive wigged the stork as much as I can and nothing at all, only works when I push it forward for full beam.

Typical first decent weekend gig wise for ages and this happeans

It cost about £60-70 for the replacement parts when I had mine changed + labout & VAT came to about £120 all in. What time & where is your Wedding tonight?

Ive had that thought in the back of my mind for ages but I never looked into it? I know its 2k for cars so its really 5k for vans??

Trouble is I dont have the funds either way to a new van as much as it would be better in the long run.....:(

I think this lights thing is catching.

When I got the van out of the garage this morning, the interior light didn't work when I opened the door. It was the same with the passenger door as well.

Funny thing is that it DOES come on when you flick the switch to the permanently on position (as opposed to on when the doors are open, where is usually is).

Although a bit annoying, this is hardly a fault which causes much of a problem, so I'm in no rush to get it fixed.

Had similar problem with lights on my Transit. Removed steering column cowl, separated block connector for lighting stalk. cleaned both sets of terminals with fine wet and dry paper, straightened male connectors with jewelers screwdriver until all inline, cured the problem. Understand this is a common fault on Transits, so may also apply to the Vito.

That only means power to main beam. Dipped beam will be on separate fuse(s).

still not had a chance to get it looked at having a major bad week at mo. Alarm now keeps going off this evening got the police on my case and not much I can do til tomorrow if I even get time to get it down somewhere :(

Yes it is a common fault with vitos, I've looked into it...
