After last weeks topic concerning the Numark DDS80 players, about how much the price had dropped, I bought one. I finally got round to getting it cased up yesterday, and fired it up for the first time today. The first thing I noticed was the noise of the fan, when the drive unit is switched on, is this normal for these players? It's not exactly deafening, but it is noticeable, and seems to run all the time. Opinions/experiences of other users are welcome, I don't want to return it, if it isn't faulty.

On startup for me it seems noisy, but after that it seems to quiet down.

Thanks, it would appear it is normal then, so that has saved me the hassle of returning it. I would have expected the fan to be on a thermostat so it only works when needed, I wonder why they didn't.

I don't think you would want a fan cutting in and out all the time at least if you can hear it you know it's working :D

Please can you let me know how you get on with it I'm very close to getting one.
