Is it just me or is the enquiries a little slow just now?

I have most thursday,Friday,Saturday and Sunday bookings for december in my diary but the last couple of weeks have been slow for enquiries.

Funnily enough, it has been the opposite for me - lots of enquiries for next year.

About right for the time of year for me, getting the enquiries but about half of them I'm already booked. Next year's shaping up well too so quite happy all in all....could do with a few more gigs in January mind :)

Well still not booked for New Year, and in my opinion that is quite worrying.

December is looking good. However January is dead, February I have 1 and March is dead so not looking too good at all my end.

However 1 week tends to be good and another bad for most of us I would say.

So hopefully my luck will change!!!

I have most thursday,Friday,Saturday and Sunday bookings for december in my diary but the last couple of weeks have been slow for enquiries.

Our business ( Barn Dance) is slow in the winter and about the same as the last couple of years.

October has been predictably dead for enquiries but theres a few quality enquiries around for next year.

Whether the punters have the money to spend is another issue--time will tell.

Mind you I now have 3 Xmas Parties to cover===which is 2 more than last year.

I'ts been fairly quiet for wedding enquiries this week, but general party bookings have been coming in quite fast these last few weeks.

Have taken 7 so far this week and its only Wednesday night!

I tend to find that October and November tends to be a lot of reasonably short notice bookings for 18ths, 21sts and 40ths etc with the occasional wedding booking for next year.

Re NYE, I have only got the 1 confirmed booking and that is for one of my guys who is doing every Fri / sat at a casino for me and they have booked NYE in with the christmas dates.

I'm sure that NYE will pick up - it always does!

November isn't as busy as it could be for me but December is around the same as it always is....mad!
I have lots of bookings for next year already with my first wedding of the year on 2nd January followed by another on 9th January.
I have filled all my fridays for the year with residencies that I do and these can be altered if other bookings come in so they are back ups if that makes sense. Believe it or not, July, August and September next year are fully booked and I have one saturday to fill in October.

10 bookings for next year so far, which is at least double what I'd expect to have at this time of the year...so very happy with that.

However, I've also been very slow on the enquiries side of things lately...in fact the only ones I seem to be getting at the moment are fake ones from people on a wind up!

i do not have any bookings in my diary for january and february next year.

You're not alone, Gary. My first bookings of 2010 are March 5th & 6th.

"It's grim up North"

If nothing else it'll give me time to get stuck into some design jobs I've been holding off on.

......Luckily the rest of 2010 is shaping up to be a great one!

Very well regarding enquiries for myself, nearly all for next year (30 so far). I am finding I am getting less and less last minute enquiries though - Mind, I am fully booked at weekends (except new year) until the middle of January.

More and more people, I find, do not rush to book though. I can reply to an e-mail and hear nothing for a couple of weeks.

As far as day of the week, I would say about 90% of my enquiries come on a Monday or Tuesday.

On the one hand, my own enquiry rate is pretty good right now.

But enquiries in general are quite slow.

On the other hand, I manage a website for a local holiday let and the stats have gone through the roof the last couple of weeks. Maybe folks are in holiday planning mode just now.

November for me is jammed pack, I think I have one Friday night off? Even booked for some Sundays too...

December on the other hand is very slow...I wish I hadn't turned down work for New Years Eve now...

Well today I got a New Years Eve Booking.

Really Happy.

Venue just down the road, get on well with all the staff there as worked there a lot this year, and they seem really relaxed in that they asked me if I wanted any tickets for my family free of charge! :D
