Is this amplifier to power the new speakers you are looking for (on another thread)?

If so, it would be a good idea to decide what speakers you are getting BEFORE buying an amplifier, to avoid ending up with a mismatch.

I'm not familiar with the cab and googled it to no avail, however assuming they are 250w @ 8r, you want an amplifier 400-500w @ 8r, not a 300w amp, as you have suggested in the OP, which would be underpowered.

I'd guess these may be close?

Does he really need 500 a side. Thats a lot of headroom.

I said 400-500w
Between 1.5 and 2.0 times the rms is recommended

yes there the ones my mate uses them and they sound really good i bought them off martin on here as he used them for back ups and he said they are good for the money. i thought that anything about 300w or more would be fine its still more than the speakers are?

Steps back to avoid the worms leaping out of the can yet again. ;)
Read this. I'm not yet sure if it's suitable for you, but I'll get back to you.

Edit: 2500 fits the bill.

:o thank you sir...

actually Peter, those cabs are quite shapely...

... I can just visualise them four in a row on their backs, minus the drivers, with some nice begonias planted in them. :)

Sorry if I'm intruding on Gardener's Question Time, but getting back to the original question:

Berry EP2000 or 2500

KAM 1500

C Mark 2450

Warrior 1300

The little Berry is on the lower limit, the KAM, C Mark and 2500 are as big as you want to go, and the Warrior is about spot on. IMHO. :D :D

you're probably right and the first reference I googled is wrong, as 300 does seem a little low for something that does 650 @ 4r

I could possibly get you a good second hand amp (as I know a nice little number that a buddy of mine has for sale - I have its sister in my rack), but I am too junior to sell on the forum, so not at present.
