...well for 2 weeks anyway.
Audio Technica (http://eu.audio-technica.com/en/news/release.asp?id=186) are running a new service, where you can 'test drive' a mic or two from some of their new ranges for a two week period.
No hard sell to buy after either.
Thought it may be of use to some, who use studio mics etc...

You will get one, or two if you want. It is a GENUINE offer. Audio Technica are a professional company. Its not a scam or anything. It's giving people the chance to try a mic in their own environment before making an investment.
I'm going to grab a couple of studio mics for a few weeks, to record some radio shows :D

When investing in a good quality mic, it is worth testing them in your normal gig surroundings.
James H & myself were looking for a good pair of high quality radio mics, and seemed to have found an excellent TOA radio mic that ticked all the boxes. Managed to borrow one for a few weeks (well months - oooops :D ), and it wasn't what we were looking for at all :(
Luckily I managed to do a bit of wheeling and dealing & bagged a couple of the new Sennheiser G3 radio mics :D which were perfect for us.
It's a shame more microphone companies don't do this.

:D
Best way, I tend to go to my local Disco shop and take it out on hire/ or buy basis and test it at one of my gigs.
Thats how I bought my JTS wireless---nice one!
AT are pretty good, my back up hand mike is an old AT and comparable to a cheaper Shure model.
