Now Orange will be offering the iPhone in the very near future I'm seriously thinking about jumping on the Apple band wagon.

Just wondered does anyone have one? What are your thoughts and reviews?

Quite simply the best thing since LED lighting :p

Take your office everywhere with you - dead simple email configuration, full implementation of Safari browser, a million apps, iTunes wherever you go and as an ipod it even pushes out a useable signal through the headphone socket for on-demand requests.

Add a very easy to use UI and seamless roaming between WiFi, 3G, EDGE and even GSM data and you'll always be in touch.

10 out of 10. I can't imagine my life without it.

I was looking at getting one when my contract runs out, but a couple of guys in work have the Sony Ericsson Satio phone and that too is amazing if not better than the iphone. Plus the Satio has a 12 mega Pixel camera which takes amazing pictures.

OK mate, now you know how much of a Dinosaur I am. :o Do you have to have a different contract to take advantage of these magic tricks? :confused: If I start doing some of the things you mention with my Nokia, will I get a huge unexpected bill, cos as far as I know I'm voice calls only. :confused: :confused: :confused:

So will i still be able to connect it to my Bluetooth Car radio for handsfree calling and Music Streaming? At the moment i just jump in my car and it automatically connects will the iPhone do this?

I will more thank likely be going back to nokia.
The iphone doesn't wireless sync with my mac!
Nor can you use it as a portable storage device.

They have a severe problem with fails calls, the wifi is rubbish and the pixels die in he screen.

The silent button is in a stupid place and they fall to bits if you use it everyday.

They are like a toilet - great for crap useless for communication.

Dont get me wrong it is very clever but it has alot of pitfalls too.
It is a phone for people who wrap there phones in cotton wool and put them in cases. For people who put their phone in their pockets and use them like a phone then expect a scratched iphone which will break!

Hi spec Nokia, but I upgraded over the phone, and I've changed contracts, but not seen any papaerwork. Guess a call to Customer services is in order.

Or Google Calendar - syncs everything I need syncing, wirelessly.

Silent button is a revelation - it's the only physical switch on the thing - perfect for rapid on/off without flicking through 25 layers of menus like your typical Nokia.

There are a hundred and one free apps that'll let you use it as a portable storage device - anyway, as a DJ, what else do you need to move around other than music? :p

I've had one for 18 months, with nothing more than a silly flimsy rubbery case thing and its still good as new. Mrs VV (aka The Phone Destroyer) has only managed to put one scratch in it after the same amount of time, and she has definitely pushed the bounds of "fair use" :o

Until very recently I was in charge of selection and procurement of mobile technology for a multinational plc with over 200,000 devices in use. I've done that job for more than 15 years. I'd pick the iPhone over any of the also-rans. Sure, some manufacturers are catching up (and overtaking) on certain features, but as a package the iPhone is about 2 years ahead.

I bought a secondhand 2G Iphone back in May, and I love it..

I paid £100 for it,

I'm on 02's Simplicity contract, £9.68 ( I think ) a month !

150mins / 300 texts, thats enough for me.


I find the camera to be pretty good actually, takes great evening disco pictures !

Also I think the 2G version is very well built, it seems to be far more solid than the newer ones..

And, no problems with the Wifi at all...

So yeah, I'd recommend it..
