I always thought it was Hokey Cokey too, but the more I think about, the less sure I am!

These flow charts must be drilled into management on their courses. My boss insists on making up charts like these to pin up on the wall, for every possible 'process' there is! She even made one to tell us what to do during the postal strikes, which basically boiled down to making a telephone call rather then sending out a letter.. :whistle:

Now speaking as someone who regularly plays Hokey Cokey (well I DO do a lot of kids parties sometimes with adults in the mix), I'm 99% sure that the process flow should be - left foot in, left foot out, in, out, and THEN shake it all about. Repeat for other limbs rounding off with the whole body.

If I follow this flow chart, the right foot would go in first (whereas I reckon it should be the left) and not come out again before being shaken? Or am I missing something? :p

It's all the fault of Black Lace!

Always, everywhere, I had ever been in my life, it was right foot first.... until Black Lace who for some reason, decided to do the left foot first!

(So often throws people - even now - if they aren't used to the Black Lace version)

I reckon they just made a mistake when they were recording it and couldn't afford to go back to the beginning and start again, so they just went with it :p

Speaking of this dance, did you know that its inventor, one Albert W Bentley died recently? :confused: :( :( :(
Huge crowds attended his funeral, but as he was being removed from the hearse, disaster struck! The coffin slipped from the grasp of the anguished pallbearers, and hit the ground with a splintering crash. Worst of all, parts of poor Albert were protruding form the casket! They put the left leg in, the left leg out, and after that all hell broke loose. :D :coat:
