Calling all computer buffs!

Ok - I've got a bit of a strange problem with the laptop.

As you may remember, went over to a wireless network a little while back so that I could connect the laptop to the internet in the living room without running wires....... and it works fine so long as I have the laptop plugged into the mains!!! Although 99% of the time, I will be running it off the mains in the livings room, this does somewhat defeat the object of having a wireless laptop, and will obviously retrict it's use (Still hoping we might have something called 'a summer' and I could go outside to work for a while!)

Anyone got any ideas? :confused:

My technical help here would be to use a long extension lead :teeth:

if you have a battery save mode on the laptop, to increase battery life, turn it off.

Usually on many laptops the battery saver option will turn off any USB, firewire or PCMCIA devices when the machine is running off the battery.
