Im really not wanting to cart my whole "big" box to do wedding fayres background music, or in a pub where were doing a new quiz, so im contemplating having a seperate smaller box with for these kind of jobs.

Im thinking the media player being the ADJ SDJ1 (http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR279385 ) with a Kool Sound 2U Mixer (http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR250105 ), all housed in a 4U lighting controller case (http://www.terralec.co.uk/rack_cases_and_bags/lighting_controller_case/16703_p.html ).

What do you think?

How are you going to get that mixer in that case? It's too deep surely?

Why not a Numark IDJ2?

All-in-one compact unit with built-in mixer and inputs for external devices if you should need them.

Also a perfect backup for media player and/or mixer in a live environment.

Just look past the ipod slot - use it if you want to but I never have!

Wedge a memory stick or a HDD in the back and you're up and running in seconds.

I share Darren's fears about depth and think you might do better with a deeper case. Also check the Cortex HDC500 as possible playout. I note that HTFR no longer offer the small Denon mixer. Shame.

Edit: Vectis has a point you know. Smartarse.

Alternative product to the numark. As a fan of cortex I bought one of these for when doing walk-in gigs.

Good point, its quite a deep case, but the dimensions in the mixer micture make the depth look huge. I have one of these (http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR261881 ) as backup in my main box, which isnt as deep, and may be an option.

I was looking at a Numark CDMix-1 off a member here but as yet ive not had a reply as to how he wants it paid for, so im looking at other options.

Are you in a hurry to purchase one steve ?? I may have one available after Christmas. At the moment it is used as a backup but the cortex mentioned earlier will be backup after christmas.
