Butlins Sound system

I was at my firms 2009 conference today at Butlins at Bognor Regis.
The conference was rubbish ( they all are :D ).
But the sound and lighting was awesome.
Each side of the stage was the following.

5 X Martin W8LCD http://www.martin-audio.com/products/W8LCD.asp

Subs were 3 x Martin S218+ Blackline http://www.martin-audio.com/products/S218+.asp

hanging from ther celing and pointing to the stage were 2 pairs of JBL speakers
And to the sides were 1 x Martin AM3 http://www.martin-audio.com/products/AM3.asp

Lighting was 13 Martin LED movers , at least 6 Martin scanners and a host of other conventional spots etc.

All controlled from a desk at the back of the room ( ok this desk was 15 ft long all told ,presumable lighting desk and sound desk )

Very impressive.

When i was at Pontins a few years back @ Camber Sands there had Mackie SRM 450s and a matching Sub! Then the year after HTID and Global Energy moved in for the weekend to rave it up lol.

I went to Butlins Bognor earlier in the year and thought the sound was horrible.

Mind you, there were failed X Factor wannabes "singing" through it... :eek:

Yep - all the camps have this sounds system and lighting. When in full swing it rocks......

I've been stood near these when they do the wrestling gigs (only because there is no where to sit) and you have to hold onto your pint. It has also made me feel sick because of the bass.

I was Senior Redcoat/Compere in the Hotels division for 4 years....in the early 80'S.

Correct.

Went to a 70's weekend - sold out. You could not get in for love of money.
The room we were in was easy 1,500 plus and filling up fast so much so they stopped people coming in...

Dunno about butlins. But i was recently at our local CenterParcs and they were full outfitted with Martin fixutres (Mac 250s Krypton & Wash) and Nexo soundsystem. It was lovely. :)
