Speaker advice please.

Youir thoughts and experiences appreciated. I need speakers for one job, and may need some for another.

Firstly, home entertainment. I'd quite like to link a copule of Mackie V2's to the PC, but that could lead to even more marital disharmony than usual. Perhaps something more in this line would be advisable.
These seem to have the design features I need, but perhaps a tad lacking in grunt.

Now then, I may have a need for a couple of cabs where portability and size are more important than power output, aesthetics, earth-shaking bass. Gotta be passive, cos I've got suitable amps. 8" or 10" drivers, I reckon 12" is too big. Contenders are

A Logitech 5.1 system or creative

and get a creative Soundblaster Audigy soundcard that can do up to 5.1

I have one in the downstairs pc with a Logitech X530 5.1 system it is very loud and bassy sound very good as well.

is it just for use with pc or as a home hifi/home theatre system ???
if the latter is the case i would go for something with a bit better sound quality like a mission or kef speaker system with a seperate amplifier --- but i listen to a lot of music at home and the family watch loads of films so i have possibly gone over the top!!!!!!!!!!!! but definately worth paying a bit extra for a better sound

PC/mp3 audio only. Not home theatre. Thanks for the advice John, but 2.0 or 2.1 is the only option. Audio only, if we play DVD it's usually on the telly, which is completely separate.
Mark, I agree totally, and was looking at some of those today, but mainly for reasons of space, and also cos I don't often get the chance to use them properly, a pair of actives is what I need. That's probably why the entire living room wall isn't hidden by Class D cabs at one end. :D :D
