The great day is nearly upon us. I've got a grueller tonight, it's the Goat Farm Staff ( If you buy anything with the St Helens label on it, that's the one) Party, at the other local Golf Club. I hate it! :mad: If they're short on numbers, I'm Billy no mates in the conservatory, especially if a lot of the guests are on early shift next day. :( If it's packed, I've got no room till the meal's over. And don't get me started about access! When I park the van, the guests have to go through the flowerbeds to get in, trolley the gear 200yds through seven doorways, with one room fuly tabled, so of course all the chairs are in the way. No wonder I put a surcharge on for this one. ;)

Xmas Eve is local Social Club, easy rig, and some other gear's going out with Justin, cos he's got a cramped area to set up in. Nearly there.

I have 2 on tonight, one which I was doing myself, but due to the weather, I have had to get another of my guys out to do it.

I have been shovelling snow since 9:30am trying to find the road somewhere...

I am enjoying my Birthday off today!

Got a Nursery Christmas Party tomorrow and then only a few left for this year. 26th, 28th and 31st.

Round here, we tend to find that something like this often helps. ;)

Yep, walked down to Sainsburys about 11:30am and managed to get about half way up the hill and then had to be pushed the rest of the way by a few neighbours. :eek:

This is why I have covered my last gig tonight.

Easy one for me tonight. Regular quiz just 5 minutes up the road, and most of the snow & ice has melted, so no transport problems.

Just finished writing out the Christmas cards for all the regular teams.

Well, all festive gigs complete (I'm knackered). My last gig of the year is NYE. It's the first NYE party I've done since the millenium, I vowed never to do them again but with the new addition to the family the money was too good to turn down. :-/

I fear the joke you are missing ,is that you managed to walk unaided to the supoermarket, and yet had to be pushed home! :eek: Too much sherry tasting in store? The North face of the Eiger to deal with on the return journey? This is soon going to be nearly as interesting as the saga of Rob's Elf and safety tribulations. ;) ;)

You would need to see the conditions in Reading to pass judgement...:) ..it may as well be the Eiger as the snow was thick but not yellow.....:eek: :D

Not yellow? :confused: I'd have expected it to be, what with it lying over Gold. :confused: :confused: Funny how the council can cover the streets with precious metals, but not Salt. ;)

Don't get me started on that....It's pathetic.

No recycling or waste collection today as the carts can't get up the hill as the gritters haven't done anything. :mad:

The gritters aren't fitted with a transponder to raise the barrier, so they come down from the main road & turn left (away from the barrier) For the sake of a couple of minutes they could reverse up to the barrier & spread the grit & avoid all the damage (not in the least to the barrier, which the side posts now resemble a certain Italian landmark (not the Coliseum)).

All the minor side roads & cul-de-sacs (such as ours) remain ungritted & are now being used as training grounds for the winter Olympics

It's times like this when I'm thankful for living where I do. Our roads don't get cleared much, but with the low volume of traffic, as long as you keep your vehicle roughly on the road, you can go out and play merrily. Even in SS Continental Drift, I can do a great impersonation of Sebastian Loeb. :D :D
