Hi All,
In the new year i'm buying a Laptop to replace my computer to run VDJ, and am just about to buy a Cortex. The last 'playout update' is to re-new my mixer. I'm currently using a KAM KAP500, which isn't great and I need more inputs.
In the new mixer, i'll need to be able to have my Denon HC4500 plugged in, a Cortex HDC1000 plugged in and possibly a pair of CD players (i'm guessing a four channel mixer with assignable channels would work?). I had looked at the Denon DNX500, but is there anything cheaper that is similar?
Outputs wise can be anything (1/4" Jack, XLR or RCA), as I go into a Mackie DFX12 mixer before going to the speakers anyway.
Thanks!

Big thumbs up for the Numark CM200USB. Does everything you mentioned and has USB soundcards on two of the channels too :)

Indeed. Would probably have to be S/H though, because I think it's been replaced by the C3?
Justin should be able to give chapter and verse on this, as he should have beeen using one for a month now.

Hi Peter,
Yeah just found this out :( I have found the C3 for £180, so that sounds like a fairly good price? It's got all the features too. I look forward to hearing Justin's contribution!

Where? It is a good price. I've given the lad a nudge, he 's very happy with his 200USB apparently.

Ah yeah I've used that one before Charlie, I like it - but I need a 4U mixer really (sorry, should have mentioned that in the first post!)

No worries mate. It's a really big mixer isn't it. I need to downgrade to something smaller.

For VDJ, I use the Denon anyway so won't require USB capability :)
Thanks Peter.

It's big, but I do like it - used it a few times :)
Edit: over 2000 posts now - woo! :D

Have looked at the Citronic CDM 10:4 USB I have used this for a while in a club environment and has worked great for me. I use a twin CD player and a American DJ SDJ-1 through this mixer as well as DJ mic and twin radio mics. It has built in USB on 2 chanels as well as a facility for I- Pod connection. Just my my thoughts it is another option to look at It cost me £200.00 new

The old ones were bombproof. Then I think they were built elsewhere, and were crap. Now I think they're OK again. Bet yours was Silver, Callum. That seems to be the crap batch.

You'd also have to give Ollie a few quid towards it. ;) He asked for "Cheaper than a Denon DNX500." ;) :D :D :D :D

Well the Numark cm200's are great; I have two of them on regular hire-outs and they both work 100%, bear in mind you get stoopid djs, kids etc etc using them and have had one on a recorded 250 gigs, and has not missed a beat!
if you sacrifice the 5th channel you can go for the usb or fx version which is just as robust!
I would steer clear from the vmx1000 because the faders feel cheap and it is a very cluttered mixer with a rubbish bmp counter imo!

Hi,
Thanks for your input.
As the CM200 has been discontinued, I think i've set my mind on the C3. It appears to be the same, just a slightly different design. It will enable me to plug everything I want into it and it's 4U :)
Thanks for your help guys!
Was going to say I got a Denon DX900 for sale. :D
Cheaper than a brand new X500 and my mixer is mint condition. :D
Never mind. lol

Sorry, a bit late in on this one, too busy drinking & DJing (not at the same time obviously :p ).
The S/H Numark CM200USB is fantastic, everything I was hoping for and more.
Just as good sounding as my old DM950USB but 3 more channels and a many more EQ settings (even the mic has treb & bass :D :p ) and it's own on/off button lol.
I will be taking my trusty mini-mixer as back-up but I doubt I'll ever need it.

I think this one may be worthy of a closer look Ollie. I think it's the older standard model.

And I may have a serious punt on this one myself. At £1.24, it looks good value.:D :D :D
