Hi all,

Hope you have had a great christmas so far.

Just thought I'd do a 'quick' review of my last couple of weeks and what's been happening.

All of the Christmas parties went really well. Great feedback from both hotels and all is looking good for next year too (surprisingly from BOTH hotels).

December 18th was a killer of a day. I had a Christmas Party in the daytime for the kids with learning disabilities at a school. As always it was a pleasure and I was booked again for the same time next year (it will be my 5th year next year). They love it and it always makes me smile when I am there as they are so enthusiastic. From there I went to set up for the evening party and in between that I had a call from someone wanting to hire some gear so I sorted that too.

The last party at the hotel residency was the best ever and I couldn't of wished to have a better finish. 90% women of all ages and totally up for it from the first few bars of 'I Gotta Feelin'.

Had a party booked on Monday 21st for a Disco/Karaoke for 30 women from Gala Bingo. It was to be held at a venue near to me. The access/load in is absolutely terrible and it took me ages to get the gear in. As I was doing this the snow blizzard began. I set up and started to make my way home. It was only 3 miles away but took me just under 5 hours. For 2 hours I was on the mini roundabout about 100 metres from my house! I kept in touch with the organiser throughout the day and it was around 6pm that they decided to cancel.

The next day I had to go through it all again and get my gear out. Parked the van up and started to get my gear broken down. Around 30 minutes later I head to the van with the first flightcase and notice that it isn't where I left it!!! The van had slid back on the ice about 12ft and had only stopped because I had the steering wheel on full lock and it had turned and scraped up against a railing. The railing had also stopped my van from hitting a Mercedes which was about 10ft behind. A few scrapes down the side of the van but not too bad and could've been worse!

Christmas Eve was fantastic. It was the first time that the owner of the pub had ever made an appearence. I've been going down there as a punter for 23 years and worked there for 5 years and had never met him. He was very impressed and loved it. The place was rammed and they had record takings on the bars.

Tonight I am there doing a Big Music Quiz which I have devised myself and I am back on New Years Eve with Disco/Karaoke. Both should be great.

Anyway, I doubt if I will be back on here until the new year so just want to say that I hope everyone has had a great christmas and you all have a brilliant new year. I also hope everyone gets lots of work and is really successful in whatever they do.

All the best
G:D

Thanks mate. It seems that some people don't though.

Thanks to whoever deleted the original reply.

Don't worry guys, my new years resolution will be to stop making them so long.

For the record though (can't remember who it was that posted the reply)..I was not blowing my own trumpet!

Thanks mate. I don't understand how some people can perceive what I write as blowing my own trumpet or dinkle waving...I just write honest reviews, it's as simple as that.

Nice one Gary. Just ignore people such as the guy that posted that image - it's just jealousy :)
