I assume that this is a simple problem to fix regarding the wiring of cables but here goes.

My young brother has decided to throw a Hogmanay party so I decided I would take the PA.

The full system would be serious overkill so I thought about using the mid - high cabs as they claim to be capable of full range on the back.

Problem is they only work when they are linked from the subs.

Seems strange to me, the speakons from the amp to the subs are standard Neutrik speakon connecters (NL2FC) and the ones that link to the tops are the 4 pole NL4FX.

I'm sure that therein the problem lies but I would appreciate some input from those in the know before I go making up my own hybrid cables in a mis - informed haste.

Thanks,

Charlie.

You may need the full system. Don't take this as gospel, but if the system works as I think, you may have a rig similar to some Peavey ones, where the tops are on 2-/2+ and the full range goes into the subs on 1-/1+. ( Or vice versa, I forget) Do you have separate cables for subs and tops? Do the tops work if you plug them into the amp with the "other" cables? Be careful.
