help i'm looking to clean my cd lens

Hi all i have a pair of citronic CDS6 CD decks and the starting to jump around ...

I am not even gonna bother with the CD lens cleaners as they just make it worse .

Can some one tell me what the best way of cleaning them would be??

i also thought cotton wool buds and some aftershave for the alcohol in them ??

Don't use aftershave :bang: use a cd cleaner first, if that doesn't work then use dedicated cd lens cleaning fluid.

Meths works fine if you have some kicking around, it cleans the gobos and lenses in your lamps too

Sounds to me like you might need new lasers or new decks if disc cleaner makes it worse. :)

See how much a repair would cost....think I paid £40 about 2 yr ago.

CD lense cleaners only remove dust!! They will not remove smears or blemishes on the lense.

Depending on the lense, if you go down the replacement route......You could buy a few cheap DVD players from asda (about £10 each). But dont quote me on that one ;)

I discovered a good cure for jumping CDs.....

well well well.. the aftershave turned in to lynx body spray and the CD decks now full work :D

I fear that this maybe a short term fix as I did the same but ended up changing lasers but if it works - well done. :thumbsup:
