Rack modification expert required

Hi there,

I have a slidy kam case rack with a laptop holder on top.

I have a problem because the mixer has the outputs on the bottom and there is very little space. I cant plug in any jacks which is a pain.

I want to get some form of rack modification that raises the mixer up to about 30-60 degrees making in easier to use and the connections accessible too. :)

Here is the set up and what i want to achieve:

There's only one way really, cut your rack rails in half or to a suitable length, then position the top pair to your required angle. Re drill the case to suit, and screw, or pop rivet the two upper rail sections into the new position.
Tip: check & measure twice, cut & drill once

Although to save ruining the case could you not buy more rack strips and just add on to the case at a greater angle using a short bolt at the bottom and a longer one (and some wood to wedge) at the top?

That sounds like a better option? Knowing me i would ruin it :)

I could take both rails off and simply just make the incline greater? i think that would work and both devices would then be equal.

Can you not get a triangle shaped (say 2-3 cm high) rack component that would make the incline like in my diagram?

Why not just use right angled jack leads?

How much higher could you raise the mixer without fouling the lid?

Do you want the mixer to be at an angle.

Could you not make a small patch panel with a project box to mount inside behind the mixer? Or as FDDJ says, 90° jacks and phono's, with a few rubber bushes for support ;)

If so how about a patch panel and right angled plugs?

Another option, how about using bigger bolts and putting a nut between the frame an mixer?

whats a project box? I assume it something with a phono input and multiple outputs which would be perfect!!!

Thats a very good idea. I could have some rubber gomits on the back supports and right angled jacks possibly.
