I was a mobile dj back in the early 80s and I have got the urge to start up again:) .I cant believe how technology has moved on  ...ive will have to start off with my trusty old Citronic Thames 2 and my Martin Audio ICT300 speakers for a while till Ive earned some dosh for some kit thats a bit more modern....I will be using a laptop with virtual dj on but i don't like the mp3 library part of it,windows explorer is a bit better, does anyone use another program for organizing mp3s?
I need to get a light show,I like the American dj Revo 4,I think I will get 2 of these what do you guys think will go with them one of the 4 head lasers that are on ebay for around £150 maybe? Also what vans do you have,I was going to go for a small Transit connect or similar big Transits cost loads to run.pli companies any recommendations?
is there a market for late 70s and early 80s soul/funk out there?thats what floats my boat but like you guys I can read a crowd and keep them dancing all night.Finaly what do I charge?there has been lots of discussions about this and personally I think there is a place in the market for all djs cheap ones(not always bad) and the expensive top pro ones any way I was thinking £100-£150 a night for a regular week night in a pub and weekend party/wedding £200 and £300 for a wedding all day background music /night reception.Does anyone use DMX pc software for setting up their light show?
I am a sparky/data cabling engineer and I do pat testing if anyone needs it in the Milton Keynes area btw....I think thats it...and thanks for taking the time to read my intro post

Gary:)

You bet your Goddam :Censored: there is.Read your opening Gambit and you're going to have no trouble at all.....You have a grasp of what its like to restart.

However ....read the posts regarding what its like for the established DJ's in Jan/Feb this year...and don't get disheartened....good luck;) ;)
