Today my first ASDA.com delivery arrived and I must say how good is that and how lazy :D

9 out of 10 times we'll shop at Tesco as the nearest Asda is about 12 miles away. But this week with me not really wanting to take the car out for fear of people that can't drive in slightly wintry conditions crashing into me I did it online.

Must say a great service and I'll certainly be using it again. No trolley rage , no screaming kids.....bliss ;)

Anyone else online grocery shop?

My Nan usually orders from Tesco and my sister used to use ASDA, but she got fed up with them as they forgot bags of shopping, or replaced items with the SmartPrice posion AND never refunded her the money for the cheap rubbish, or for forgetting to deliver the shopping.

So:

Tesco - Use Again
ASDA - Never Again!

There's a little box you can tick to say if you want substitutes or not. The only thing we couldn't get was the cat litter as the cats have paper litter and this wasn't available and we didn't want another type so ticked the No substitutes box.

Everything else we ordered was there so happy enough.

I like the way you can build your list online during the week. For example you can book your delivery slot now for next friday and then you've got until 10pm next thursday to finalise your list.

Used to use Iceland for this, cos the stores locally are absolute pants for parking. Sadly they withdrew the service, and now you go round the store, fill your trolley, pay at checkout, and they chase you home with it! :D :D :D Doesn't suit us at all, much preferred the old way.

We tried ASDA and they were rubbish, forgetting bags and not delivering them until 24 hours later.

Tescos cost slightly more but generally we have had great success with them.

Never tried ASDA (and probably never would because I don't particularly like their products) but have tried Tesco several times (although not for a long while now)

Always did well with Tesco deliveries, and yes, you can stipulate for each item whether or not you want them to make a substitute if something is unavailable. Also (if you say you do want a substitute) never had a problem in rejecting substitutes if you don't like what they bring.

I used to actually make the deliveries for Asda, so I know the processes involved, and with regards to substitutes, you're always refunded any price difference - it's computer generated so it can't not happen! If you've been given a more expensive item however, you pay no more.

Personally, I've used both Tescos and Asda, and it's either/or for me.

No, but a few months ago I discovered fast food online shopping with Pizza Hut.

We use Tesco for home delivery. They're usually very good, but they've made a couple of mess ups. E.G. Mum wanted to make an Apple Pie with cinnamon in, but as a substitute for the cinnamon they gave us corriander?! Also - half of the products aren't bagged, even though we pay for them to be bagged too...
