Following on from my other post regarding a charity event I'm staging, I'm now on the scrounge :D
We're going to run a Valentines ball on the 13th Feb (party because of venue availability on all other dates, partly because it seems like a good idea, and partly because I have a band lined up who are ideal for a valentines gig and the venue is also ideally suited - with stage, stage lighting, etc).
I'm after a few bits and pieces to add to the effect. What would be really good would be for another nice, local, forum member to volunteer their services for free for the evening for these extras (or even to run the whole night if someone is up for it?) but we are willing to pay to hire - we're obviously just concious that every £ we spend is another £ that the charity won't see. If no-one comes forward, I might have to use my credit card to "add to my list of available services" :D
1. Uplighting - we've got a hall with a capacity of about 200, so I reckon it'll take about 10-12 Colour Bursts or similar to colour the room.
2. Gobo projector, or moving heads with rotating gobos would be even better - ideally with a lovely valentines heart motif... :D
If anyone has any other suggestions as to how they would normally add to the effect in a venue for a Valentines night, please feel free to add them, I'm always open to ideas :)
