Hi everyone am thinking about doing an 80's theme night and fancy dress for my wifes birthday in a couple of weeks can anyone suggest some good ideas please wolud be most gratefull many thanks.:)

To be fair it was the fact that they aired the Simpsons 20th anniversary episode last Thursday that threw me, so I'm blaming Sky TV :)

a nice idea i did at an 80s night, during the buffet play a few 80s theme tunes, especially some of the 'not so obvious ones' - some cracking tunes too - Fall Guy, Minder, Flumps (!) etc etc - theres loads of them to choose from.

just adds something a bit different for 20 mins or so.

Hi,

I work in an 80's themed bar, so we have ongoing different themes for promotion...dirty dancing was successfull, with large cut outs of Baby & Johnny...but overall the movie theme is very good...you can dress up like iconic characters....Maverick (top gun), Rocky, MJ thriller, Star Wars outfits, they are all available from your ususal fancy dress stores..and can be rented too. Then theme you're music with tuneage from the movies, ie footloose, top gun, dirty dancing, Fame, Flashdance, Rocky, Cocktail, Lost Boys, all are really good soundtracks. as for drinks..then cocktails a must...some fancy neon lighting if you can get it
