Apartments are these ones

http://www.apartamentosturisticoslevante.com/tourist-apartments-benidorm/apartment-levante-club.html

Just a quick thought.....transport from the airport??

I used these last time I went to Benidorm.

http://www.shuttledirect.com/en/php/airport_shuttle_direct.php

Works out at approx £8 pp each way for a shuttle bus or £11 each way to do a private bus.

Thoughts please ;)

I'm surprised that there arent a few more people on here that want to come! It's a cheap as chips 3 days away in the sun!

thing is last time we had plenty more of people saying they were coming but it never turns out that way.

In all fairness the group size we had last time wasnt too bad any more and it tends to spilt into two groups.

jeff wood
21-01-2010, 07:45 AM
I dont remember splitting into two groups ???

And yeah, we'll have at least 10 on this trip which isnt too bad..

+ agree with Ben,, its cheaper than staying at home !!!

what you all waiting for :)

It didn't , come on now Jeff read the post properly :D

sorry im a bit lisdexic :)

and just to add,, that even if anyone doesnt know any of the people who are going all that well,

dont worry, just come along, everyone will soon get to know everyone,

or just bring a mate, doesnt matter if they're on the forum or not..

personally I think its gonna be great !

I love the way most of us will be at the NADJ show,, then out in Gloucester or Bristol,, and then the next morning off to the Costa Blanca !!!

It doesnt get much better than that,,,

( Unsure smilie that you dont seem to have on this forum :) )

We still need to finalise the NADJ night. I'm thinking Bristol as it's that much closer to the airport.

Jeff, Did you manage to book the apartment direct in the end?

jeff wood
21-01-2010, 09:49 AM
yes, no problem,,

£105 for the apartment for 3 nights !!

what a good deal :)

and yeah, my preferred option for the night before would be Bristol, and stay in the Future Inn

Don't know whether I'll be able to get up for a 9am flight if we're out in Bristol for the night :wine: :D

If we do stay in Bristol, I reckon it'll just be everyone thats going away, and none of the others who are going to the show, as they'll want to stay closer to the NADJ venue I'd have thought.

jeff wood
21-01-2010, 01:00 PM
well this it.

as i said before, two basic options

bristol and the Future Inn ( £59 per two bedded room )

or Gloucester and the Travellodge ( £19 a room, at the moment )

I honestly dont mind,, theres advantages and disadvantes of both.

I suppose if im honest.,,the sensible option would be Gloucester..

might not be the best party town, but as long as theres a few bars thats all need.

and of course, there will be people who arnt going on the benidorm trip,,so would be nice to be able to drink and chat with them.

and I think we'd be fine to get up in time and drive to the airport.

the big problem with bristol is not just the fact the non benidormers probably wont be up for it..

its the fact that theres a good chance we'll get carried away and end up getting back to the hotel at 5am totally plastered,,,and missing the flight.

whereas in gloucester, will probably be a more reasonable midnight or something..

and finally...if you check on a map,,,it seems to be a nice straight motorway blast to the airport from gloucester, and as we'll be leaving fairly early, the traffic should be OK....

Yeah, thats what I'm fearing too.

Thing is, the show is still a good 15 miles from Gloucester and just over 20 to Bristol, so neither are on the doorstep - it's likely they'll be a split between the two, or people opting to stay closer in Thornbury or Cam & Dursley perhaps - both would be good for a quieter night.

jeff wood
21-01-2010, 03:12 PM
thing is Dan.. its the location of the travellodges etc..

although saying that, doesnt really matter because say if we go out in thornbury or cam & dursely, then we can always get taxis back to the travellodge,,

i just thought it would be handy to go out somewhere right near where we are staying.

so if gloucester is also a bit of distance, where do you think the best place to stay would be

i know theres the Days Inn in michelswood,,

or theres another travelodge in stonebridge or stonehouse or something..

what do you think ???

only other thing i worry about,,is that ok we dont want a crazy night,, but on the hand, we dont want a village where every pub shuts at 10.30, remember its a sunday...

Adam_F
21-01-2010, 04:58 PM
If we can stay in a Travelodge, all the better, as they're only £19, with gives us more ££££ for Benidorm :beer1:

jeff wood
21-01-2010, 05:45 PM
well we're in a bit of a predictament really,,

because the nearest travellodge to cam and dursey is Stonehouse,

but thats about 5 miles away.

so how what that work ?

We'd all have to drive to the travelodge from the show

then get a taxi to cam

then at the end of the night, get another taxi back to the travellodge

also, that travellodge is £29 at the moment

the one in gloucester town centre is £19..

plus, we wouldnt need any taxi's

but surely also, that would be also be the preferred choice of the non benidormers, as gloucester must be on most peoples way back ??

so they wont going out of their way...

I've just put a post in the "where are you staying after NADJ " thread to get an indication of how many people we're talking about.

If there's not any forthcoming then we may be aswell to go off and do our own thing.

jeff wood
21-01-2010, 06:15 PM
I dont think that any "non benidormers" have expressed any interest at all so far,

maybe its just too early ?

only thing is, that £19 price wont last for long..

DeckstarDeluxe

stonehouse is a dead town Jeff!

I personally think bristol is the better choice. the traffic around bristol can get mental at the best of times so we have a better chance of missing that. In all fairness I dont think we'll get crazy and only one of us has to get up in time because they can just wake everyone else? thats my two pence worth anyway.

jeff wood
22-01-2010, 08:27 AM
yeah, well I know im gonna start to sound like that bloke on the Fast Show,,the one who keeps changing his mind every minute lol

but,, yeah, the traffic in the morning perhaps is something to consider.

and also, when you think about it, theres gonna be at least 10 or more benidormers..

plus,,any non benidormers,,theres nothing stopping them driving to bristol after the show,, I think its only 20 miles from the show to that Future Inn hotel.

because what else are they gonna do ?

apart from gloucester, theres no other travellodges near the venue ( that are near a half decent town I mean )

with Bristol, we can stay in that Future Inn which is a brand new hotel,, looks really fantastic,, and theres Bars and Restaurants on the doorstep,,

and then only 8 miles to the airport in the morning...

I think its 45 miles to the airport from Gloucester..

We've also got to factor in the time it takes to get the cars parked up at the airport.

So we need to be at the airport for at least 7.30am

Spirits High
22-01-2010, 11:10 AM
Time to play Dad and make a decision :D

Bristol it is then and the Future Inn. Checked their website and it's coming out at £59 for a room with 2 double beds ;)

It's no cheaper on late rooms so might aswell book direct ;)

Here's the link:

jeff wood
22-01-2010, 11:50 AM
well OK Dad !

I'm cool with that, it really does look like a nice hotel !!

and because you can get a room with two double beds, its no problem to share with someone, so the price is a very reasonable £29.50 each.

This looks good :)

How much is all of this in total (exluding beer)?

I would assume flights are peanuts? My dad lives in Alicante but your not all going there LOL

Jeff your posts are a bit tricky to read as you do not quote so i dont know what your replying too.

:beer1:

jeff wood
26-01-2010, 01:47 PM
well I'm normally replying to the previous post if that's any help

Its not expensive,, My flight ( return ) was £108, but I think theyve gone up to about £125 now.

The transfer to the resort wont be much, maybe £10 each ??

And that Apartment we are staying in cost £105 for the three nights,

But thats for up to 5 people.

So if you can share with someone, then of course it will be much cheaper.

We are flying to Alicante, so if you went, you could always go to your dads first and meet up with the rest of us later,,as we get there fairly early, about 11am I think,,,

That is really cheap even for one person! Would be interested in that. I may be able to get one other? :) The best thing would be to travel from Bournemouth - Alicante. we could get a flight for peanuts probably?

prob best to go straight to Benidorm as my dad lives in the other direction. My girlfriends sister lives in Alicante but i will give that one a miss

you know the reason we are all flying from bristol is because we're all going to the NADJ show in Gloucester first,, then staying over that night in Bristol.

But of course, you dont have to do that, just meet us there !

Ok... after reading all the posts, I'm now extremely tempted to try and book and come along!

My partner has said he would have to come too cos apparently I'm naughty when I'm drunk.... and something to do with trust... blah blah blah... I wasn't really listening to him!

But he doesn't know anything about the DJ and mobile disco industry.... he's an accountant! And thinks he would be bored the whole time!

Fingers crossed I can convince him otherwise! :)

Oh and danno... He's really strict... so he might not save ya any money! LOL

How about Bristol? If you're going to the NADJ show on Sunday then get a £29 travel lodge and get the 9am flight with us lot :)

I'm not sure how the rooms are filled at the moment, I think I have Ben and Jon sharing mine - they're supposedly for 5 people, but it's two bedrooms and a sofa bed, so 3 will be most comfortable.

jeff wood
13-04-2010, 09:02 AM
oh yeah, theres tons of room

in our apartment they'll be me, barry and paul (tech)

two bedrooms and a lounge area with beds.

and Dans right, better to do the NADJ show,,then a bit of a night out in Bristol, then Travelodge or Future Inn,, and then 9am flight out of Bristol...

Did we come up with a plan for Alicante Airport to the apartments?

Or is just a case of railroad a rep when we get there and hijack (not literally) their coach ;)

jeff wood
13-04-2010, 05:55 PM
well i think we should literally hi jack a coach :)

and no , i dont think anything has been organised yet,

cheapest way would be to book someone like resorthoppa.com

we need to get a list of who's actually on the Bristol flight, as theirs a few who are arnt

ps. i know that resorthoppa.com are usually the scum of the earth, but as theres a few of us, we'll probably get a mni bus/coach to ourselves, so shouldnt be too much waiting around,,

    1.9 out of 5

£14.45 pp that's for 10 of us

http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews173418.html

but on the good side the reviews for Alicante seem ok

there's the alternative below with Shuttle direct for a private bus it's £22 return. I've used these lot to and from Alicante before and they're good.

Ok folks, slight change of plan

Due to me getting the opportunity to exhibit at a very profitable Wedding fayre on the Sunday I'll now be flying out from East Midlands on the monday morning getting to Alicante about an hour or so before the Bristol flight ;)

To that end there is an Easy jet flight available if anyone wants it, it'll cost £25 to change the name and it's one way but stilll a good deal if anyone fancies it :D

There's also now a spare bed at the Future Inn Bristol on the Sunday night downside is you'll be sharing with Neil (not the bed the room) and it'll cost you £20.

Any takers then give me a shout.

Just coming back to airport transfers a moment. Just been doing some research and you can hire a fiesta/golf size car for under £50, or an estate size car for around £70 so would this not be a better option, assuming they'll be parking somewhere near our hotel?

I'd be happy to be one of the drivers and it could also prove useful for any daytrips?

I heard theres a company called a2b who do cheap transfers, not had a chance to check to check it out yet ...

ive also had a bit of a change of plan, not that it affects anyone, but now im hiring a car to drive down to the show,,then i'm gonna hand it back Hertz at bristol airport,,

that way i dont have to pay for airport parking,,,and best of all i can fly back to Liverpool..

Bristol Airport would like to thank Travel Rewards members for their understanding and patience during the recent disruption as a result of the volcanic eruption in Iceland.

Flights have already returned to normal and we are now looking forward to a busy May Bank Holiday with around 80,000 passengers expected over the weekend.

Both easyJet and Ryanair have withdrawn their internet check-in and 'straight to security' facility until further notice. Check-in will also close earlier than normal to help the airlines get as many disrupted passengers as possible onto available flights home. Please visit easyJet and Ryanair for further details of their revised check-in procedures.

Bristol Airport recommends that all passengers should arrive at least 2 hours before departure to allow time for check-in, security and boarding processes.

For some ideas on on great flight and holiday offers please click here.

taken from an email Ive just received from Bristol Airport

could say that again! Only just recovered and boy what a week!! Shame we never really took any photos but all having a gay old time to bother with that.

Its surprising how much networking that we did do and we had some heated but educated debates on a few topics affecting our industry. Ive also got a few ideas and a rough buisness plan for the next couple of years with the goal of going full time. Spent loads but worth every single penny!

Yep a great holiday, so many funny stories and 3 days of partying in the sun - what else could we have asked for (apart from a few less OAP's and 50th Birthday parties)

I always learn something on these holidays and have a good laugh - bring on Septembers :)

yeah, awesome holiday (err business meeting :) )

was really a laugh a minute, and I'm still recovering now..

also I loved Benidorm, cant really fault it, brilliant place..

Cheap drinks, exellent food, exellent bars and entertainment, fantastic clientel, all party people, hardly any families with kids, No Germans whatsoever , lovely beach, sea was nice, weather was absolutely perfect everyday,

even our apartments were OK, considering the extremely cheap price of them..

so yeah, good choice going to Benidorm, absolute zillion times better than the place we went last year :))))
