Can someone give some artist that has covered this song. Looking for upbeat version. I know boy,s town gang had a hit in the 80,s, but was there any others?

Andy Williams
Andy Williams and Denise Van Outen
Englebert Humperdinck also has a version on a free newspaper CD (Had it recently as a first dance)

Sorry, didn't read the post properly....

Boystown Gang is probably the most upbeat version of it.

Go to Itunes or Woolworths etc and search for the name of the song - I bet there's loads of other people who have recorded it but not released it as a single.

I've just checked and there are loads of versions on Itunes, ranging from Lauren Hill through to instrumentals.

Alright Dan? :)

Just looking through Itunes, there's versions by Manic St Preachers, Gloria Gaynor, Sheena Easton, Stylistics and even Vic Damone.

Must be something there surely?

To be honest Paul, if they wanted an upbeat version, the song is so well known, I reckon you'd get away with any version.

Can't beat the Boystown Gang version - it's not a cheap throw-away dance remix, really well produced using real instruments, so musically :thumbs_up

Really? I always thought it sounded like something that had been produced on a synth! :)

The brass sections couldn't have been tho, I'll need to look out the CD and check the credits :)
