Stand vs Booth: packed down size

How does the size of a booth packed down compare with the size of a standard 4' stand?

From a 'stand user' point of view although there are more parts to it, It's a lot more practical for me than a booth is. Purely because the deck stand is taken apart to more, but smaller more managable parts which fit in my Dad's estate, whereas having looked at the specs of the booths around at the minute, they only fold down to a certain extent, therefore meaning they won't fit in Dad's estate with all my other gear.

Shame really, apart from them costing the earth, I think they look good!

3 questions

Are they a bitch to assemble?

Can I pick one up cheap?

And where would I get a good starcloth for it?
Any help would be appreciated guys and girls

I'll kick off answering at least one of your questions....

No experience with booths, but the stands are easy to put up. We've got a DJ who freaks out at anything new, and I can recall him going out for the first time with a stand years ago. There wasn't enough time to go through it with him / have a practice run and he was terrified! However, he managed to work it out all by himself and found it incredibly easy. If he can do it, anyone can! :D

Most people will agree that Ultimax are the best quality stands around, and they have a lot of accessories available, plus many parts are interchangeable. So for the difference in price between an Ultimax and one of the others, it's worth spending the extra (plus they are still only a fraction the price of a booth)

Various booths have different sizes when packed down but i can only really talk from my experiences with the deckstand booth pro range :)....

Can't really tell you the S&H sizes but the decjstand booth range is the following

Deckstand Booth Pro (4ft version) packs down to roughly 1400mm x 1000mm (high) with 2 shelves (full length just short of 6ft)

Micro Deckstand Booth (2ft version) packs down to roughly 700mm x 1000mm high (shelves pretty much the same length as the booth itself)

New stand to be added to the deckstand booth range soon ;)

The good thing about the deckstand booth is it is both products in one with a tailored cloth to fit the shape of the booth and pulled tight - so the wrinkles from transport are reduced if not taken away completly... Cloths include plain black wool serge, plain white cloth, Black wool serge LED starcloth - all fireproofed to meet current health and safety guidelines!

We have an S&H booth that typically does not take up any otherwise useable vehicle space. The frame & cloth is in its own wheeled flightcase, which fits snugly in the side loading door well of a Sprinter. The bonus is it stops other trunks rolling into the door well if they become unbraked (which can happen).

For the deckstand booth pro it's about 155mm when it's all closed down and then the 2 shelves but they wont add too much to it depth wise.

And for the micro deckstand booth - if i'm honest i'm not sure as not got the figures to hand although it wont be any more than the deckstand booth pro i wouldn't have thought...
