I like to mention good service when I get it, as it seems pretty thin on the ground in a lot of areas in this world...

I bought a Kam FScan40 laser for any of the lads to use for the teen parties and as usual like to take care of any gear by casing it properly, so on Thursday lunchtime, I emailed Shaun at Swan Flight Case, giving him the dimensions and he took payment and said the case would be here around the middle of the next week.

Well, it turned up today! It is a small case but it had to be specially made and I reckon one days turn around time on a bespoke case it pretty good.

Very efficient service and great case as always. Well done Swan!

The funny thing is, I used Adda cases for ages thinking that their cases are cheaper as they aren't full flight, but Swan are generally cheaper and much quicker too.

Swan made me a mixer case last week with a few small amendments to depth of their standard unit.
Couldnt be more helpful and was with me within a week.

Price seems very good compared to other manufacturers too.

They changed hands not so long back. I believe one of the partners bought the other out, so I think things may have improved under the new regime.

Get it done gradually CB. There's nothing worse than a professional DJ turning up with cardboard boxes and proper cases protect your investment.

Just to clear things up about the materials use, Shaun from Swan sent me an email regarding this.


Just for reference hex (your case) is a resin bonded birch ply with a phenolic coating on the surface, Diamond board is identical material but with a different pattern, astro board is a honeycombed polypropylene (plastic) board. The astroboard is very very light weight although on a case the size of the 1 we made for you would only save maybe 1KG whereas on something the size of say a keyboard or coffin case can save as much as 27%.

So there you go!
