I'm sure most of us are guilty of this...

You've bought a bit of gear and absolutely love it, but...you never use it these days and can't bring yourself to sell it.

What's yours?

Where do I start! My attic and shed are full to the rim with amps, speakers, lighting, mixers, vinyl. I'm such a hoarder.

The one (well, two) bits of kit I just can't bear to part with is my SL1200's, which are stuffed into a corner of the attic gathering dust.

mine is probably my prosound vastos. They never blew bulbs were nice and bright and filled a room nicely. I have 4 of them but havent put them out in 2 years. They are nice and light as well. Went over to full dmx and didnt really look back keep them more for spare really.

Nearly everything. I am selling my Par 56's at present, but could still put three rigs out at the weekend if I needed to. Madness!

I'll start typing now. That'll give me a sporting chance of finishing before Christmas. ;) :o :o :o

By the sound of it we could bring down most of the sound and light suppliers in the country if we had a co-ordinated sale.

Maybe we should organise DJfest somewhere in the middle of the country in a huge warehouse. We could camp indoors and have tables showing off our gear we never use anymore.

It would be like the antiques DJ show - Now here we have a Gemini PS 626 circa 1998 .....

Wherever you organise it, Darren's banned. ;) And he's especially banned from the Car Park. ;) ;)

T'was said in jest.

Back on topic - Yup, loads of gear laying around totally dormant - I've a shed load of mid to late 1980's 12" vinyl that I've never had the heart to sell off (not that they would be worth much now-a-days).

I've got a couple of stormbirds - great lights, lovely effect, just so bleeding heavy - needless to say mine have been dormant on a shelf for a very very long time.

Me too.

Snap - mine were, along with a bag of 7" - now they're in my garage, well since last summer - that's one of the reasons I bought the mp3 turntable coverter (mentioned in another thread somewhere) thingy which turned out to be rubbish!!!!

I don't have anything which comes under this category, as I use all my kit.

I don't have the room to hoard stuff, so anything I no longer use either gets sold to FDDJ or (in the case of my spare pinspots) binned.

You are the best. You are pure DJ business man.

That's meant in a good way, whereas I am pure DJ - "Oooooh look at that - buy".

I have things I have not yet used. They were shiney!

Actually, I've just remembered that I've never used my spare amp, but that's back up, so I don't think it counts.

yeah im the same as rob as in having nothing that I dont use. I sold my vinyl collection and set up to fund a week in ibiza, sold a couple of led lights I didnt like and other than that everything has a use. I love toys but I do ask myself not "is this nice" but rather "will I ever use it"

At the moment I have another 2 rigs that aren't being used. I won't sell anything as it's nice to have backup gear and stuff for hire etc....(even though I could do with the money at the moment).

I've got a load of stuff i don't use but just can't be bothered to sell.

The kit that i love but never use would be my pair of Acme Puma's. Great lights, just so much heavier than my LED lighting:(

Everything.

Only stuff that's beyond hope gets binned:cool:

My oh my it's was gut wrenching when I scrapped my original FALS a few weeks back:(:(
The only deciding factor was that I do have another identical set that are in much much better condition:D it was still a very sad moment though binning my first disco lights:eek:

I have hanging in my bedroom (I know I know:o) a Martin Syncrozap QX250 in perfect working order and near mint condition.
I can't be arsed carting around any more, and it really needs haze (that you can't seem to use anywhere these days) to be properly effective.
It was also the single most expensive piece of lighting equipment that I've bought.

It's going nowhere:)

I have always had a merciless policy of selling old stuff when new stuff is purchased (leaving backup gear of course).

But my one and only not-used-any-more item from first starting out is... this... :o
