View Full Version : Last min DIY guide to a kids / childrens / Disco

Hi just come back from a School disco (infants). Ages 3-7.

i have not done many of these so am still learning the ropes.
- I dont particularly wish to make a habit of doing them for that matter but they are pretty rewarding in small doses :p

I wrote up a few things earlier (see attachment) with some easy games on and thought i would share it as it would have helped me when preparing.

The one thing i would say if your scared of children is they will do what you say and look to you so just treat them like a load of drunk adults at a wedding. :D

Here is a small track list which i used. Both items will last you about 2 hours.

I will say it again - Im a newbee kids entertainer (3 gigs over three years) so dont take any of this as gospal:

They all know the classics like agado, but thanks to modern technology they all know the charts too which i would much rather play and to be honest i think they enjoy more.

A miture of the two seems to be best though???

You clearly are an intelligent forward looking DJ.

The truth is however there is no template for a succesful Kids Party in the same way that there is no template for a succesful wedding.

You have to look at what you have and make the decisions on the day.I wish I could get away with 2/3 records between every game/dance.At our parties there is something for the Kids to do at all times.Kids attention span particularly beween the ages of 3-7 is very low.:eek:

If I went more than one track inbetween it would be ....

"Can we play some more games Mister!!"

With that in mind we try to limit our parties to 2 hours....:)

Our regular customers know and accept that....because they know theres going to be some fireworks during that time!!;) ;)
