Ultimax Knobs

Hi all,

I use an Ultimax deckstand and the threaded collars are coming out of the knobs that secure the end sections to the horizontal bars, which is a potential danger as the more the knobs are used, the more chance of one or more of the knobs failing completely.

Any ideas where I could get hold of some metal securing knobs as I'm fed up of the crappy plastic ones keep breaking!

Interesting! I've had my Ultimax for about 6 years, never had a knob problem(ooer!) Do you think perhaps you may be over tightening them?

Order some replacements ones from Ultimax, you can contact them directly on www.ultimax1.com (better to phone than email, they are like that) ... and be more careful. I've have mine for 2 years and broke 1 on that time.

I don't think so? They've got to be fairly tightly done up otherwise it'll shake & rattle (& roll, well hopefully not!). I've seen another DJ use metal ones similar to the ones at the bottom of this picture:

I haven't actually 'BROKEN' them, the metal threaded bit insde the plastic knob is creeping out of the end... I guess the only explanation is that i'm doing them up too tight but I didn't think I was? :confused:

I had the same problem , a couple for the metal inserts had become "un-glued" from the plastic casing , I just super glueded the insert back in , no further problems :D

You may want to use araldite instead of supaglue as it is a much better hold long term.

I had this happen aswell, maybe we don't know our own strength :D ..
I pulled the threaded part the rest of the way out with mole grips and put some strong resin glue into the hole where the threaded part goes, then just gently tap the metal threaded part back into place, i just leave my deckstand together now for a quicker set up.:)
