Park Lane Sheraton

Has anyone played at the Sheraton on Park Lane?
If so can you please advise re loading/unloading etc?

Think it's the ballroom.

[Before anyone posts "why not contact the venue", I already have done but when quoting for places like this always prefer to get feedback from other DJ's as well as the hotel themsleves]

The only thing that I would double, double check on is that you can load out after the gig as a number of the hotels on Park Lane now have a 10/11.00pm kerfew. I don't know about the Sheraton though

Agree with Max here i did a gig for Radio 2 in Leicester Square when we arrived the barriers were up so couldn't unload.
A little sweet talking to the right people got us in but be careful they aren't all that easy going.

If my memory serves me correctly the hotel is not situated on park lane, its opposite the savoy. Access is a pig. Its a ballroom situated underneath the hotel and there is a very small lift. Access through the hotel front door. Ive worked it quite a few times over the years. Parking is not too bad. There is a single yellow line that runs around the back of the hotel which is perfect for parking after 6pm.

I think you will find that the Savoy is in the Strand about a mile away, you might be thinking of the Ritz, which is on Piccadilly.:)

Not unless they've moved the Savoy a couple of miles north west. The Savoy is situated on the Strand.

The Sheraton Park Lane is actually situated on Picadilly. The only thing opposite is Green Park, the building you're likely to see opposite is Buckingham Palace.

The Sheraton is actually what used to be the Park Lane Hotel. I have worked there but it was the best part of 15 years ago. As I recall access was OK, not great, but not a nightmare either. Sorry I can't go into further detail, but it's a bit sketchy.

I have delivered to the Savoy, and the ritz in the past ( but not the Sheraton)
And buck house come to mention it about ten years ago, so many of the streets in London are embeded in my brain, yes i do have one:D

I did make a mistake and say its on Park Lane when it's on Picadilly.

Note to not make that mistake if I take the booking.

This was not a great load- no loading bay and for the main ballroom which we were in we had to go in through the front of the hotel- that meant stopping on double yellows on Piccadilly and getting it all into the foyer as quickly as possible.

It's then a small goods lift down two floors and which brings you out at the "wrong" end of the ballroom- not ideal but not the worst ever- a trolley or big flight case to use as a trolley is helpful (or essential) though.

Nice hotel though.
