MP3 Player advice.

As I totter uncertainly into the new decade, I find that I've got some quite nice music systems in the house which won't play these newfangled MP3 jobbies. :bang: In order to take full advantage of having nearly every track I possess available on MP3, I'd like your suggestions for mp3 players, as I can lash them into the Hi Fi with some paper clips and a soldering iron. ;)

Criteria:In order of importance.
1) Cheap.
2)Cheap
3)Cheap. You will now have realised that suggesting the latest all singing all dancing music/video/teamaking offering will not be greeted with enthusiasm. ;) I'm looking to pay less than £30 if poss.
4) Expandable memory
5) A display.
4 and 5 are interchangeable. These items will not need to leave the house, as the vehicles have MP3 facility already. Many thanks boys and girls.

Slightly more than you are looking to spend (£50) but fits all the criterias mainly the expandable memory criteria. Good quality as well so it will last longer that the likes of Tescos and Currys own brands (Technica, Matsui etc.)

The sound quality is superb, and highly recommended. It's only tiny, but Jeanette loves it, so job done. :D

For the money you would be better looking for a second hand ipod. Mine had 30gb storage on it and I payed £100 for it from my local second hand shop. Still workign 3 years later ( touch wood)

Disagree. This one will accept 16Gb cards, so two of them for £10 each, and I've got a new machine, more storage, and £40 in my pocket. It's not even a phone a friend question. :D :D

I was considering starting a topic on this anyway.

I find that my £40 Samsung MP3 Player sounds louder and bassier than my Ipod Classic. It has a built in Lithium ion battery, and 2GB of memory, which will hold around 100-200 MP3s, simple to use, navigation cursor, earphones with intergrated lanyard, and charged via USB.



Criteria:
1) Cheap - Yes :)
4) Expandable memory - rare with MP3 players, as the memory is integrated
5) A display - Yes, the cheaper ones have them

Mine will probably not quite meet the criteria, but isn't far off :p

If you did get an Ipod though, they are compatible with a range of docking systems, but you seem set on hooking it up to a hifi (or the skytec system) :o
