Following the "Stolen Kit" thread, how many of you mark your kit, with say a UV active pen, or similar??.

Little point. Most of it will change hands in pub car parks and Sid will be using it before too long.
If it goes on ebay then maybe you have a chance of seeing it again, but very slim.

Yes whats the best way to mark stuff?

Im doing all of mine cos if for instance you saw a stolen amp for example at a boot fair how would you prove its yours?

I assume you put the postcode etc on it?

I used to. Then I had all my gear nicked and not a thing found. Only point of even going to the Police was to get a crime number to put on my insurance claim form.

Seems a waste of time to me. It's hardly a preventative measure.
That's what my alarms, locks and insurance are for. And I keep a vicious rotweiller on a long leash*.

(*But please don't tell the misses I called her that.)

I use a UV pen and have an inventory with serial numbers and photos of all kit. Mainly for insurance purposes though.
