Can the BBC iplayer website be accessed & the shows on there viewed from anywhere in the world? From the USA, in particular?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've heard than not all websites are accessable in all countries.
Thanks in advance!

OK then, how do you know that then? Is there a reason? That's what I was trying to ascertain!

It only works on UK based IP addresses. Although there was a rumour that they had run out of bandwidth a while ago which meant some people couldn't watch anything.

I think it's due to UK licensing. They've done it with UK radio stations like Heart now too. I believe it's called 'Geo-locking?'.

I have a free account as I review tested the service and posted the results on my website. There are a number of free accounts issued every month but you have to be quick, they don't last long.
