Let's see if we share some surefire dancefloor fillers that we can use at the start of our events.

One I use occasionally and has never failed is "Ace Of Base - Always Have Always Will". Billy oceans - Love really hurts without you" has the same undertones and mixes really well with it.

I've discussed that Ace of Base song on forums before and I've never ever played it!! I don't think I even own it in fact. I reckon it could be a regional thing.

I tend to play (depending on the function of course) a couple of recent-ish well know tunes to start and build up to the real floorfillers.

A couple I have been playing over the last few months are
Sugababes - push the button
Madonna - Hung up
Beatfreakz - Somebody's watching me

Weddings:

Abba - dancing Queen
Four Seasons- December 63
Billy Ocean - Love really hurts

I agree with Daz(ooh what a surprise) on Ace of Base- people look blankly at you around here!

Err,no:embarasse

I usually start with the 12" version of A Night To Remember by Shalamar:teeth:

Good tune, Col, although I'm not familiar with the 12inch!

Now you come to mention it the 12" does sound a little strange but can be found here http://www.soulmusic.com/shalamar.htm

I have a really nice beatmixed 'mashup' ...

Can You Feel It - Jacksons
Escape - Enrique Iglesias
Lady (Hear Me Tonight) - Modjo

I have a few other 'mashups', but the one above always seems to work the best.

Another track that seems to work is 'Love Is In The Air' by John Paul Young.

Just out of curiosity...

How could I make these mashups available so that I can let other people hear them online?

Suprisingly enough its not quite the same the arrangement at the start of it ,to my mind is better:teeth:

You could send them over this http://www.yousendit.com/ ,which is legal to use,as I recently bought a program, and the vendor sent it this way,but Im not to sure about the legality of sending your "Mashup" over it

Don't do it!!!!!! You are only legally allowed to do mixes live. If you record them, you need the permission of the original copyright owners of the original tracks

As I mentioned I was unsure at the time regarding the legalities of it:teeth:

For me:-

Most weddings/dinner-dances -
1. You're the first, my last, my everything - Big Bazza
2. When the going gets tough - Boyzone
3. Chain reaction - Diana Ross

For the older clientelle:-
1. Best years of my life - Modern Romance
2. Copacabana - Barry Manilow
3. Tequila - Champs

....... after the slow section (sometimes) or from the top.

It may sound strange... :omg: ....But Charlotte Church/Crazy chick seems to have the right sort of punch to attract attention, usually followed by Filthy Gorgeous.

I use the more modern 90's mix than the older staid version even though I think both are valid versions. Normally I have no problems with it followed by Robin S goes perfect together

believe it was a housey mix thanks (sure is pure) or simular thanks

Alex - Cream Ents

Four Seasons - Oh what a night / Kool - Celebration

Would be my most used couple, simply as most people recognise them and they are fairly lively. As previously mentioned you can gauge responses and toe tapping in the background part of the night!

In Badgers defense the house mix does not have any swearing in (that I am aware of)...I think it's a cracking tune, and was most upset when I lost my 12" of it! And yes it is the "Sure is Pure" mix.
