...how online stores say items are in stock, take your money, miss their delivery date then tell you "It's out of stock" - now DJ stores are doing it to me  :soapbox:

Complain.

Ask for your money back. I would. Spend it elsewhere - sheer principle.

Yes get your money back as you are entitled to it back, but they will still likely have been charged for making the transaction. That will teach them.

Surely they're not allowed to take your money until the product has been dispatched anyway?

Ive had it with htfr when they have shown items in stock placed the order and not received anything but then they only take money once its ready to go.

If they've taken the money without having the item in stock then i think you should complain like hell. Cancelling the order is one thing but then you might get a better price if you moan about it and if they dont offer you a decent discount then cancel. :D

You must be psychic! - it was the cheapest, but wanted the goods to try Saturday - first time I'd used them, but this is not unique to them

I'm afraid we've had the 'out of stock' issue after ordering from HTFR recently too (when the site said it was in stock) :(

However, they do not take your money until they do ship.

They contacted us either the same day or the day after to let us know the situation and they are quite happy to cancel your order, so all you lose is a day.

However, this is little consolation if you're in a hurry for the kit, and time lost can be vital.

Seems from this thread that a trend is appearing here? Whoever keeps track of HTFR stock / website really need to sort it out!

I use my trade supplier.

9 times out of 10 I'll buy kit off the shelf that is in stock.

But if I order it they have it next day.
Ok I travel to collect, 12 miles is nothing though.

They even save me kit that is end of line as they know I am a no nonsense in-pay-out guy ;)

Sorry, yes I have had problems in the past with HTFR. Thats where I decided to take them on, and sell kit cheaper than them.

Pioneer Headphones for example, same kit, different print on cups.....And a damn site bloomin cheaper ;)

Any of you guys who have trade accounts. Look out for such suppliers.
IMHO kit is manufactured cheaply and sold at stupid retail prices. Such retail outlets like HTFR are too bloomin greedy for my likings..

You decided to take on one of the biggest retailers in the UK? Is that not a slight exaggeration?

Not really...lol

Majority of HTFR customers in my area get their kit from me now. Many have said they prefer my service due to a few bad experiences with HTFR after sales.

OK I don't have a speaker or lighting room, but I look after my customers even after they have walked out my door. ;)

HTFR are absolutely notorious for this - I'd had this with them more often than not - The straw that broke the wotsits back came before Christmas when I actually rang up to ensure they had 2 x ADJ X-Move plus in stock before I ordered online, "Oh yes, no problem we've got loads of them in stock" - I duly ordered online and paid. Next day I get the phone call, "we don't actually have any of those in stock" :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

I've stopped using them now :D not that they'll be bothered about losing a customer, but I'm happier in the knowledge I'm using reliable suppliers such as DJStore.com and DJSuperstore

Yes, I have had this with Slappa UK. They were out of stock, although it is themselves personally that are supplying the items, and they are out of stock of their own product.

But saying that, if it did say out of stock, then I would have had to keep checking when they were in, which would have resulted in more effort.

I worked out that by ordering the products, Slappa was infact cheaper than ordering from HTFR.

Coming from the superstar bedroom DJ.

Generally, a 'bedroom DJ' uses vinyl, and has no interest in anything apart from mixing songs together. That's where we differ.

They most certainly aren't.

That throws a lot of people, they see the likes of Pioneer, Denon & Sennheiser headphones, but don't want to pay for them. They find cheap copies, then complain they are :Censored: they then presume because the copies look like them, they must sound like them too, when in fact they don't.

There are NO Pioneer copies (American Audio, Behringer, Citronic & various eBay ones) that come anywhere close to the sound & build quality of the genuine ones.

i have to disagree about the pioneer headphones i have had many headphones in the and now i have a pair of hdj 1000 and they are better than anything i have had before
and as for htfr being greedy gits i have to disagree just look at other disco equipment retailers and htfr are about the same price. they have a big shop and staff to pay.
nisfo can i ask where is your shop because i wouldnt mind a look down sometime

Ha the classic HDJ1000, don't get me wrong they sound great, but damn the plastic they are moulded from is naff, I knocked a set off my rig and cracked one of the swivel hinges. Never felt right on my head after that, been on the side waiting to be fixed ever since.

Anyhow,I would like to say that whybuynew is a good site, ok alot is B-stock, but it does come with a warranty were items are repaired or replaced with no hassle.

Closed my shop before Xmas, but will be re-opening at bigger premises very soon. Had to take time out from it all due to becoming a father again ;)
