I always feel bad when theres a chance to chat up a girl at gigs because you take your eyes off the djing. Guess if you got a roadie its more manageable.....

True but surely you'll be first to admit its alot different now in regards to how to conduct yourself while djing?
Im at a club regularly and even there I dont like taking my eye off the djing side of things....

Yeah, stick it on automix, check your emails and you're away. :p :D
Met my wife on NYE 2000 as a result of the damp squib it turned out to be. Couple of cancelled jobs then no gig. Was going to stay in with ma and pa, but my mate had a spare ticket to a pub in Blackburn. The rest is history and very good history at that. I was all fired up for gigging so was on top form and she thought I was a proper chancer. Still ten year later and all is great. Life has its funny way of putting you in the right place.

Not so much meeting at a gig....
But as good as
Spoke to my missus first on a CB back in 95.
At the time I was in the DJ business with my mate who's brother had been fostered by missuses mom.
Did a gig for the CB club at a pub, I won the raffle and to cut a long story short ended up giving her the prize (a Dalmatian teddy).
My mate ended up fixing us up!!
3 kids and a mortgage later....We're still blissfully happy ;)

A local pub was the place to be on Wednesday nights, they used to get a big name DJ in from Huddersfield. He must have been good, cos he had a Transit, and Orange sound equipment. ;) :D :D The dearly beloved was there, and yesterday was our 32nd wedding anniversary.

I was offered 3 camels for my ex wife whilst on holiday in Isreal many moons ago. In hindsight it was a bargain, but wouldn't swap the the woman I'm with now for anything:)

I met my other half through gigging too...
a band I was in got hired to play a leaving party for some family they knew "somewhere up north" where 'some girl' (one fo the 4 daughters...) was moving back to Wales after 25 years.
I slept in the van and didn't have a clue where I was until mid gig when I was firmly told I wasn't in Liverpool. ;-)
At request of family got this girl up on stage to sing along with the backing vocalists... She was...kinda cute, but I made no plays.
That was early December 99.
She moved down late Jan 2000, got her sister to get my number via the drummer, and got in touch. Yes: she chased me.
Before you ask, yes she must have been mad and desperate.... ;-/
We were engaged late Feb and married March 2001.
Still going strong, just fatter and balder.
Her now, not me. ;-0

All but one, I have dated who was live entertainment. Rest have been out in the general world.
Last one I meet was through Krav Maga training, when she punched me in the side of the head with a left hook. Did not want to say NO when she wanted to take me out to apologise, as that left hook was a killer.

Firstly, I've never been to IBZ.
Secondly, I've always preferred quality to quantity ;)

when I worked in Majorca, I knew some the lads could do over 100 in a season, but they were the "props" who got people in bars etc,
was easy for them because their basically involved chatting girls up, and they could easily just take them to their room for a quick one....
but for a DJ to 200 in a season is quite something,,
thats over two a night on average:cool:

Met mine 1986 whilst djing at a club I was resident at, married in 1990, followed me through thick and thin throughout the years and working in Spain. Just clocked up 20th anniversary last month, couldn't have got a better cook, washer, roadie and manager if I tried (alternative back in those days was Sylvia Kristal, but she wouldn't return my calls....lol) ;)

First wife was a go go dancer for me.
Second wife was a waitress at a transport cafe I used to go to after gigs. She said "Youre famous. Youre that dj from Bridge Country Club." I replied "No my dear I'm infamous". I cringe now but it worked then.
The present Mrs Loyla was a pupil at one of my dance classes.
