You buy some new kit, or change a flight case & the jigsaw puzzle in the back of your van suddenly has a different picture on the lid.
Oh yeah. Its that tight in the back of the trailer I have to watch the size of case I buy very closely.

I wouldn't know.
I never buy new kit or change a flight case.

One of the reasons I don't like using a roadie - they always seem to put the first item in 'wrong' and you don't realise until everything else is away - apart from that last case which will not go in :D

I used to choose smaller boxed effects for that reason. But since gettign the bigger van I stopped. But then got loads of larger lighting and now its like tetris for bigger shows.

When my kit is loaded into the Landrover , it has to go in the right order , no exceptions.
However with my recent purchases (and tomorrows) ,I`ll have to have a "lits try it like this" session :D :D

I'm just glad my new console case isn't as tall as my old one. Having changed my entire lighting rig (except the LED pars), it's a whole new ball game loading.
I loaded twice at the venue last night before I remembered how I put it in on the way there. I still had tons of room, but being the stubbon SOB that I am, I refused to put anything in the middle section of the van, because I hadn't in the first place.

Why did you buy a new case Steve, was it to save space or have you got some new peripherals?

I changed my mind about how I wanted the layout.
Went from one like this....

...to one like this that has the same amount of rack space, just on a slant as opposed to angled

The gigs I've done since changing over have been much more comfortable for me.

Yep, it's more open
Do you really need all that rack space on the bottom part?

Yep (although the picture is a generic version, they use it for all sizes from 2u to 8u cases). It's all occupied.
