Behringer advice please

If you have £600+ to spend, then I would go for a secondhand pair of Mackies or RCFs personally.

Or I might have a pair of unused Mackie C300Z's I may be selling- power them with something like Crown 602 and you have a nice setup.

dont know about their speakers, but ive had two Behringer mixers die on me, both less than 18 months old. Also had a crossover, one channel packed in, wasnt even a year old.

Wouldnt buy anything else made by them now.

The same reason Chalie bought gear off you that he could have had new for a lightly higher price, I'd imagine. :p

All 8 of my DJs used Mackies at some point and never had an issue with overheating.

Gav there where two different versions of V1 the italian made ones at the chinese made ones. V2 is complety different. They have digital amps and have fixed all the issues so V2 is fine to buy.

I run V2's as well and the mids are sweet.....

Ok well a quick update. Ive found some immaculate JBL EON G2's so i have bought these. Im very happy as i have owned a pair of these many years ago and did some pretty large venues with just them on their own. Thankyou for your help and suggestions.

They may well do and having never owned the v1's I cant speak from experience, but that was the main gripe about the V1's mainly the earlier models, when I researched buying the v2's.

There were tons of mentions about it on this and other forums a quick search in google for srm450 overheating chucks up tons of info about it.

And much as I'd love to be able to use it as a stick to beat Penmare with, from what I've read, in many cases they hadn't actually overheated, but a wrongly set safety component said they had, and put them into safe mode. Most V1 users are split into two camps:
1) Never had a moments bother.
2) Been a pain in the bottom.

Middle ground is very sparsely populated.

Still a good enough reason to choose the v2 over the v1 which is what the point was in the first place wasnt it?

I use the V1s, and have never had an issue. Only one time, someone had pushed in the timeout buttons (I think it was my brother...) so during sound check, the speakers kept cutting out!
