My Dilema what should i do?

I have a confirmed wedding booking for later this year,contract sent out with terms & codditions ect.I always say that no booking is considered final untill i receive the deposit which must be made within 14 days.

That booking form was sent out on the 1st February.I waited a few days after the 14 days were passed to contact the person.she said her fiance works offshore but would be back home this weekend (3 weeks ago) before making any payment.I still have not had any deposit.

Today a regular venue of mine has put me in contact with a couple about a wedding on the same date as the one above.The one above is offering me £95 more than i will get from the enquiry that came in today from my regular venue.

My question is What should i do?

Do i let the above booking go and take on the one offered at my regular venue which is only 10 mins away?

OR

Stick with the original booking and keep pressurising them for a deposit?

As my terms and conditiond state no booking is deemed final untill i receive a deposit.

They would more than likely book you in the long run - but is it worth the risk?

You put a chaser in and let them know the position. Its up to them to sort it out. You could be left with nothing.

Do you have a close DJ friend who could do one for you to keep them both happy.

I had a similar problem for this Saturday. Took an enquiry for a regular venue this morning for a gig on Saturday. Was for a cricket club dinner, last minute decision. Venue ok but need to contact the cricket club and unfortunately no-one answering the phone.

Second enquiry came through. DJ let them down etc, again for Saturday night. Checked with first venue who cannot confirm, so quoted, got booking and full fee dropped off at my house.

Should the first booking go through I have already informed them that I am not available but can reccomend someone so there is no worry about getting a disco.

Keeps everyone happy and does not upset my regular venue, I now have a secure booking and hopefully can pass on work to a fellow DJ.


Other than that, in my book it would be first with the deposit I am afraid, unless there was a genuine reason but after such a length of time ..........

They not only failed to send the deposit within the required period, but also failed to send it like they said they would when you chased them 3 weeks ago.

You've already given them two chances to send it, which I think is more than generous.

I would contact them first and let them know you have another enquiry and will take it if you dont here from them and get a deposit. I have done this before and it worked :)
