Hi all,

Been up early today so thought I would test out the Starcloth I bought for my 4ft Giraffe stand.

Quick question - Does anyone actually use all of the ties that come with it?
Ok, 2 questions...Has anyone cut some of them off or do you just hide them under the bottom when the rest is secure?
Alright...another question....The bag that comes with it...Do you put all the accessories in it or do you just put the cloth in it?

Everything fits in it snuggly, I just wondered if it could get damaged with the controller in it etc...

Looks good though and will improve the look of my show.
Also had another 8 LEDJ Colourbursts delivered too so I now have 20 units.

Cheers in advance people!

I cant even get the 3m x 2m cloth in the bag as it could cause damage folding it that small, I just use the bag for the controllers and keep the cloth in a seperate flight case

I have not cut off the straps except the one I use on my booth where I have cut the bottom straps off and sewed velcro along the bottom edge to fit to my stand.

The two I use on my truss I just tuck the bottom ones away, the others are all used.

Cheers for the advice James.

Another question...(sorry)...

How do you set up the starcloth...What I mean is, do you have a certain order in how you do set up?

Stand - Starcloth - Decks etc or do you put everything on the stand and then put the starcloth on?

At the moment, I use a black velvet cover and I put that on last of all but it is flimsy so I can do that. The starcloth is quite a thick material though and the VGA lead needs to be connected too so I'm wondering what the best way to do it is. I also noticed that it's going to take me slightly longer to set up now because of the starcloth because of the ties and making it look neat. I may play about with those and take some off.

Thanks again.

we don't use all the ties, we do along the top edge, but just use enough down the sides to make it look tidy.the starcloth is always the last thing to go on for us,when we are happy with everything else the starcloth gets put into place. we only put the cloth in the bag and use one of these for the controllers

(they used to come in packs of 3 which were better value but can't find them now)

i was disapointed when it didn't come with a front rail

ok to your questions

i cary cloth and both controlers in the supplied bag,but i do use a much shorter cable to join the controllers together

made a frame for the front cut the ties back to about 10cm long and fitted press studs, bottom ties are pushed inside starcloth.
set everything up and put cloth on last only takes a couple of mins with the press studs

yeah, that cable is loooooooooooooong! must replace it too

My sisters boyfriend is a qualified welder and have asked him to make an add
on for the giraffe stand to make the njd fit better and also get more height to
cover laptop and console. hopefully for beer money! should look good.

I set everything up first, lights, plasmas, etc then attach the starcloths just before I winch up the truss then wire the starcloths up
