Bedroom DJ help please..........

I'm after a set up which is compact, neat and can be put away in the corner of the room......including speakers.

This only needs to be for mixing only, prefer CD's and decks need a couple of effects.

Budget....£500. :eek:

Any ideas...before going trawling through e-bay....:(

I could use my kit but it's a bit of a ball ache getting all the gear set up only to break it down again and Milky Way want to start so this maybe an oppertunity to start.....maybe another DJ in the making...

Have a look at home 'surround sound systems' for sound. This is what my son uses with a Numark CDmix - or other equipment as he gets his hands on it without me seeing :D :D

You could run timecoded vinyl instead and use virtual dj, serato, traktor etc

My recommendation would be a DVS system with turntables but the price of the software alone would max out your budget. A couple of tabletop cd players and a mixer might be a better option as they offer a more traditional layout and are a bit more hands - on friendly than twin cd units.

I used these (http://www.djstore.com/item/numaxis4.htm?affid=froogle) tabletop players a few years back and they were decent enough at the time

Timecode Vinyl IS prefect for practising your beat-mixing - you get to learn to do it the old fashioned way (in a sense), the way a lot of us learned, plus you'll get an added brucie bonus of a visual reference as well which will help if your a mixing beginner.

IMO don't touch the pacemaker with a bargepole - I got one the minute they came out Toby, and it's an overpriced piece of garbage, and about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, and certainly no good for people who are learning to mix from scratch (excuse the pun at the end :lol:)
