Custom Gobos

Hi all,

My moving heads have interchangeable rotating gobos, and I'd like to get a custom gobo made for my Mum's friends wedding (that I'm DJing for). I've been in contact with Goboland and have got a deal for some custom gobos and also to buy some steel gobos to replace some of the crappy ones that are currently in them, however - I'm not sure what 'size' (a, b, d, g etc) my gobos are? The manual for the moving heads says this:

Gobo Diameter: 26.9mm
Gobo Image Diameter: 22mm

I've searched the web (http://business.virgin.net/tom.baldwin/data-gobosizes.html) and these numbers don't seem to match any standard size of gobo at all? Any ideas?

According to there website any size of gobo can be manafactured. Just give them the sizing of the current gobo you have and let them stress over it lol.

phone goboland and speak to vicky - she will be able to sort them out for you.
they are great to deal with and have a great product - but there cheap special bargain ones are what they say on the tin and wont last as long as there normal steel ones.

You're right Ollie, those measurements certainly aren't standard. Have you measured an actual gobo?

Closest standard is Mac500 which is 27.8mm/22.00mm in glass. What movers are you using?

Projected image are really cheap for glass or metal gobos. They do a really quick turnaround as well.

It was Vicky that emailed me, so I will have a chat with her. The gobo in question is a one off one anyway, so will only have to last 4 hours or so!

I haven't measured the actual gobo, no. I will do next time I use them (tomorrow). The moving heads are PR Pilot 150s (not Martins, I know... but still great lights :))
