View Full Version : Mr Mayhem is a Top Man :-)
I just wanted to say a big thanks to Mr Mayhem who has just phoned me with some advice for a 4 year old birthday party I am doing next Sunday. I sent him a PM on this great forum a few days back hoping that he would be able to help but never expected a personal phone call. I have to say I am over the moon about this and he has provided me with some great ideas and I feel a lot more confident now. Thanks again Mr Mayhem... it is greatly appreciated and I will be letting you know how the party goes.
Keep up the great work :) :) :)

A big thanks to Mr Mayhem.
I had a bit of a panic over a party for 4 - 7 year olds. The kids weren't so much the problem, it was demanding parents & their high expectations. One hopeful PM from me and Garry was on the phone the following morning. My nerves were instantly settled and the advice proved invaluable. I also had help from another DJ who kindly came along to offer advice & support.
These days its all too easy to forget that there are still good people out there willing to help complete strangers.
It went really well. Cards taken & another booking already. A huge thankyou Garry.

was he christened mayhem. that would be a cool name. bit like a super hero - max mayhem!
His games and stuff have lead me in the right direction as kids entertaning is certainly not easy!! Not something i would enjoy on a weekly basis!
i would miss all the nice 20 year old girls.
Well here we go... judgement day for me as the kids disco party has arrived. Woke up early, going to have a good cooked breakfast and set off early but I'm pretty nervous. I haven't done a kids party in ages. I got my games sorted in my head at least and I hope it all goes well. I'll certainly be trying my best to use all the support and tips Mr Mayhem has given me... fingers crossed it's a good one!
Will update you soon on how it goes.

GIG REPORT
Ok prepare yourselves for some REAL CHEESY COMMENTS! As I have a big grin on my face. If I was being big headed (which I never am) I would say today’s disco party went bloody brilliant! But as I'm a level headed, feet on the ground and very modest guy I will say today's gig went really good!!!!
I want to say a huge thanks not only to Mr Mayhem (once again) but to this forum as without you all god knows where my disco business would be... you've helped me out on numerous occasions and I owe you all a lot of gratitude. Ok there's the cheese over with.
As for the gig itself well the lovely lady who booked me and her young daughter Lily brought a bag full of prizes and some medals for the competitions (including pass the parcel). There was face painting and tattoos (obviously fake ones!) and balloon modelling!
But, even if the above had not been there I brought bog rolls (mummy game), sweets for prizes and balloons! I started off with a couple of disco songs, followed by a party dance (they were all on the dancefloor from the start), then I did the 'Corners' game which worked pretty good (Cheers Mr Mayhem!). Throughout the party I did 2 best dancer competitions, the Mummy game (which worked like a treat!), more party dances including one young guy who showed off some Michael Jackson moves. On top of this I had a good setup, access to the venue was good via lift upstairs and I even handed out a load of business cards and should likely get at least a School booking from this!
So once again thanks Mr Mayhem and everybody - you gave me confidence I never thought I had and a better outlook on Kids parties. Bring on some more now I say. REALLY pleased and if I can share anything I have learnt from today with you it is to be organised, confident, have more games and ideas than you need and this one is for you Mayhem - get the mum's and dad's joining in too . Cheers
