How can i get two inputs with four outputs.

basically one input for bass and one input for tops?
all at 8ohms.

and for channel 1 & 2 for bass and 3 & 4 for tops?

cheers :)

Even if you could do it I don't see the point of it

Yeah but set up like that you would defo need a close to hand back up.

I'm tempted to suggest that as long as it doesn't explode totally, it's its own backup. ;) :D :D :D :D :D :D

That is of course said in jest, because separating items as much as possible is the essence of backup. Paul is of course absolutely correct about a second amp.

I'm not totally sure that using it as the OP wishes is actually its intended purpose, though I too am confused as to its raison d'etre.

The point of 4 channel power amps is quite simple - they save rack space, less amps means less racks are required, less racks assists truck pack & payload weight, 1 No. 4 ch amp is generally cheaper than 2 No. 2 ch. amps (certainly is with Lab Gruppens)... how many more reasons do you want? ;)

They are great for running active boxes on NL4 (or NL8/soca via a patch).

The important bit - obviously the extra channels don't constitute redundancy and on mission critical applications you should have at least 4 redundant channels easily patchable per rack location, as a failure may lose you 4 channels instead of 2

- im not sure what your on about? Sorry :)
here is some advice i got from some one else, which i dont understand either  I really have to get the speakers in my house and have a fiddle.

Im running two 400 watt smartsound bass cabs and 2 300 watt RCF art tops.

Stereo from mixer master into channels 1&2 do not bridge amp, Booth
stereo left or right channel into channel 3 of T-amp with channels 3n4
bridged.

NOTE Channels 3n4 will run at 4ohms but NOT 2ohms, check that impedance
of both cabs are not below 4ohms when connected together, if they are
below 4ohms they will need to be re-wired in series.

Thanks for that Tony, I shall rush out forthwith and change over to 4ch amps, to save space and weight. ;)

Seriously, after Tony's explanation, it seems to me that these ( type of ) amps are aimed squarely at big ( touring) rigs rather than mere DJ's. Thanks for that Tony.

Right, I see where he's going with that. Cos I dislike/distrust bridging, I'd forget that bit. Get an active crossover. Feed the mixer out into that. Top out into 1&2, sub out into 3&4, 8 or 4 ohm cabs won't matter at all.

Is this what your on about.

i have drawn a diagram. This is one way but im sure there are more.
I like having the high straight from mixer as i feel it sounds better.

You can tell im bored cant you :p i fell out with my girlfriend last night so im stuck at home talking amps and drinking margarita cocktails :o

I have a gig tomorrow so i want to make sure i get it right!

Actually i could just use the maxbass and sack off the crossover which would make room for my wirless mic unit. see second image.

According to your diagram, your high isn't high, it's full range. All you're doing is adding bass, so since you're not splitting frequencies, the crossover is superfluous. Where the bass enhancer came from, I don't know, so you could bin it and the Berry, and save even more space. :D Your subs will pretty much filter out the high frequencies on their own, especially if they've got a crossover in.

There is a massive difference in bass when i use the passive crossovers and maxx bass. Its a great unit and quite handy. i would not mind using full range on the tops as the RCF'S are good at that anyway.

Is the amp set up ok? I dont need to bridge anything? Im going to have a go now.
