With me not working tonight I thought it would be good to go and see my beloved AFC Wimbledon play at York City.
I booked the train to depart at 1203 for a bargain £6 each way. So as I got to the station you guessed it , train delayed for 20mins. Not a big problem in itself as I'd built a fudge factor into the times and I would still make it to the game ok.
Announcement on the PA my train was now running 57 mins late so wouldn't be arriving in Chesterfield until 1pm (fudge factor now rapidly disappearing  ) but I would still make it to the ground in time for kick off. 1230 arrives and a further announcement that the train was delayed further.... fudge factor now blown
So I jumped in the car and drove, arriving in York at 1335ish, asked a nice steward at the ground where he would recommend parking to be told "Oh the game's off, it was called off about 15mins ago, standing water on one part of the pitch"   :Censored:
So back to Chesterfield it was then :bang: :bang: :bang:
I suppose there is one good thing that if I had have got the train I would have still been stuck in York now as the tickets were for a specific train and not transferable.
Just thought I'd share that with you incase you needed a laugh on a saturday afternoon :D :D
