something i thought regarding wiring rig

at the moment i have a rhino twin bar deck stand and was thinking of just using the deck stand not the over head bars.
i have been thinking about getting one of these http://www.djanddiscostuff.com/prodpage.asp?prodid=1832
if i could get brackets or some thing to replace the t bars on the stand so i could fit my equinox micro par bar system as the part which fits onto the stand is thinner than an average stand.
could this work .
secondly i was thinking of getting two bits of board about same size as the bar between the two stands with some blocks of wood places then on to the wood i would bolt two g clamps.
i then could hook the board over the back of the bar between the stands and have the board wired so i can then just put up on stand then plug in wires to iec box.
would this work

I reckon he is Steve. I got two of those for exactly the same purpose. My standard rig over the Ultimax is exactly what he is suggesting.

As to the plywood, well it'd a perfectly viable option. Best option? Probably not. Do I have a better one? Probably not. I reckon I'm going to have to admit defeat and prewire the bar I usually use.

if he is, that is weird, cos i had the same idea today, and hide all the wires behind the ply over the horizontal bit of the goalpost, albeit the 1.5 metere bit.......:omg: :omg:

I use them to attach a single light to the top of an Ultimax upright for our smallest regular job. I'm sure I've seen pictres of Shaun doing something similar.

what i meant was a bit of pipe that fits over the top of the stands then becomes smaller at one one to fit the par bar .
as the fixing that is on the par bar cannot be removed

You could cut a small section off your Parbar stand, say about 150mm and then have it welded onto the top anywhere you want it. :)
