How do you copyright a business name/DJ name?
I know for a song of your own you special post it to yourself and dont open it.
Same for a business/DJ name?
Cheers.

Maybe so - I have just looked at your trading name and think it would be a great coincidence if someone were to choose the same name.
Not the point though. I wouldn't mind knowing more about this TBH.

Yeah, the chances are small but im more bothered about a DJ name being copyrighted but would like to cover both.

I wonder if there is another "Charlie Brown's Disco" in the world...
I'm thinking of changing my name actually. It sounds like a three old's party. :o

You have a name that's easily recognisable, which customers are likely to remember. I'd keep it as it is if I were you. :)

This is the official government site and covers all you need to know.
Business names get registered as Tradmark's. You would 'Copyright' artwork such as your logo.

See if you can join Equity. They don't currently cover DJs but if you sing or do anything else you might be able to join (I was registered as a Variety Entertainer a few years ago but my membership has lapsed now).
Equity members can get help and support in any legal action from someone else trying to use their stage names.
It's worth a try. Other than that, I think a sole trader might find it a bit difficult to trademark a business name but Business Link could also offer some relevant info. Just Google it.

In a way this is true but you dont actually own the title, just the material. You cant copyright a song title.
