Dont know it--but had similar problems at the Leisure Centre Daventry and
Northampton General Hospital --large stage. big room less than 50 per cent
of max capacity attending :eek:

To solve the problem you need a pair of Peavey UL15s and a big amp ( only joking )

I set up at Floor Level not on the stage.

That way you are physically closer to the audience and able to better communicate with them and the whole show does not seem out of touch with your audience, plus anyone asking for requests can talk easily to you.

Its a high risk strategy as you cant change once you have started---:eek:

I'm just thinking the sound is going to drift away...and everythings going to be working overtime....including me!!:eek: :eek:

Yes but the punters/dancers at the front who want a bit of loud music will get it---those at the bar will be pleased as it wont be so loud--if its like Northampton Hospital about a mile back from the stage.;)

I know the problem,whatever you do the sound aspect will be difficult --you will probably be unable to give a good sound at all points in the room but as I say directly on the dancefloor should sound ok.

I actually had the UL15s on the stage but on a low setting on the stands, you could try speaker angle irons to point the speakers slightly downwards into the audience to avoid bouncing off the back wall which is likely to cause horrendous echo.

No doubt Tony will be along with some good ideas (not involving Peavey speakers)
